Brocco Li (ブロッコ=リー, Burokko Rī) is the Boss of the Cha-R Family and an illegitimate half-brother of King Nasubi Hui Guo Rou.[1]
Appearance[]
Brocco has dark, curly hair worn in an afro taper, white, tripartite eyebrows, and a sharp jawline. Two long, parallel scars run horizontally across his face at the height of his cheekbones. In his first appearance, he wore a leopard-skin pelt or robe.[1]
Personality[]
Brocco believes that those in power should respect a certain etiquette. He scorns the Phantom Troupe due to their lack of such and disregard for their own lives.[1]
Background[]
Due to not being an official child of the King of the Kakin Empire, Brocco received two scars on his face as soon as he was born and was allowed to live under the condition that he never appears in public or concern himself with politics.[1]
Plot[]
Succession Contest arc[]
Brocco boards the Black Whale and resides in the VIP area of Tier 1.[2] On the fourth day of voyage,[1] he discovers through his Underboss[3] that the Phantom Troupe is on the ship and currently on Tier 5. He phones his half-brother and head of the Xi-Yu Family, Onior, to inform him. Onior estimates the Phantom Troupe to be a potential source of the imbalance, and Brocco convenes they lack the etiquette fitting those in power, commenting they could not fit even in Meteor City and will be difficult to control. He reveals that even some of his underlings admire them. At Onior's suggestion, the two agree to let the Heil-Ly Family and the Spiders destroy each other, taking care to control when they will do so. Brocco then summons his Underboss Ken'i and orders him to find Hisoka before the Phantom Troupe does.[1]
On the seventh day of the voyage, at around 10:30 pm, Brocco enjoys himself with his vast collection of exotic pets.[4]
Abilities & Powers[]
As the Boss of the Cha-R Family, Brocco commands one of the three most powerful forces of the Kakin underground and has authority over a number of underlings. His mafia faction is supported by Prince Luzurus Hui Guo Rou and controls Tier 5 of the Black Whale and all commodities stored there.[1]

Quotes[]
- (To Onior, about the Phantom Troupe) "They lack the etiquette of those with power. Freaks who couldn't even fit into Meteor City. It'll be difficult to control them. Savages who don't hide their talons and don't care about life or death. Some of my young associates are actually secret fans of theirs."[1]
Trivia[]
- Like his half-brothers, Brocco is named after a vegetable: in his case, the broccoli, of which his hairstyle is also reminiscent.
