They Got to Masadora, But... (マサドラには
Synopsis[]
Biscuit tells Gon and Killua that it's time to go to Masadora, saying that they will just ignore any intro-level monsters and head straight there. As the boys get excited to buy spell cards, Biscuit holds up her finger and they both use Gyo to answer the correct number. However, she says that they took too long and orders both of them to do pushups. She then says that they should be able to travel 70 kilometers in three hours, leaving the two boys in shock.
Along the way they pass a campsite and an abandoned town, eventually reaching the city with numerous decorations above it. Gon wonders where they can buy spell cards, but Biscuit asks them to look for a department store, keeping what she's buying as a secret. They find a store and see that everything is in the form a card to save on display space. The two happily tell Biscuit that they found the spell card shop, and Biscuit asks them if they are tired. They vigorously reply that they aren't, and she says that they are heading back to the badlands, confusing the two as they protest. She tells them that they won't need spell cards for training, and the three make the return journey in two and a half hours.
Biscuit pulls out the cards she bought and uses "Gain" to reveal two shovels, two flashlights, two ropes, and a wheelbarrow. She explains that they are going back to Masadora, but this time they will head straight for it and dig through any obstacles. The two begin digging and say that the rock is softer than they thought, hoping that they will be able to move forward at a good pace. Inside one of the stone pillars, they start using the wheelbarrow and take shifts digging and hauling out the rubble. They begin to feel the pain from all their work and finally make it to the other side of the pillar. Both collapse on the ground and Killua says that they only moved forward 200 meters.
Biscuit tells them that not only do they have to rest sitting up, but she sets up a contraption where the two will have to hold a rope tied to a rock placed directly above their heads. She tells them that she will also throw a knife to cut the rope once during the night, so they will need to stay vigilant even while resting. Killua is confident since he had to do something similar back home. Gon is left unsure, and as his eyes begin to close, the rock falls on his head, with Biscuit telling him to set it back up himself. The rock falls again and again during the night, leaving him with several bumps on his head as the two work the following day.
That night, a smiling Biscuit increases the size of their rocks and says that they will get bigger each day, giving Gon an even larger one since he wasn't taking it seriously enough. As the two continue digging the next day, Gon hits a hard rock and says that he can't breakthrough with the shovel. He considers using a Nen punch, but suddenly gets an idea, asking Killua about his aura while he was digging. Killua is confused and says that it was normal, but Gon says that they need to think of the shovel as an extension of themselves. Gon then uses his aura to envelop the shovel, and Killua understands as the two dig through the rock like it's made of pudding. Biscuit hears them in the distance and says to herself that they discovered Shu, an advanced application that requires more energy. Gon and Killua quickly have trouble moving and producing aura, but Biscuit is confident that they will improve in many ways from the training. She says that the first phase will be over once they reach Masadora.
