Synopsis[]
Gon says that they have traded all their "Leave" cards, and Biscuit adds that there were so many junk items that they couldn't fit them all in their books. Killua comments that their free slots are becoming full, saying that it would be best if each of them kept five free slots open out of the 135 they have between them. Gon says that he and Biscuit will keep the duplicate specified slot cards in their books while Killua will manage the spell cards. Killua tells Biscuit to carry defensive spells as well, but she replies that they're too confusing. Killua snaps back and reminds her that there are only three of them. A list of their specified slot cards is shown, with the three having 51 cards (61 including duplicates).
Back in Masadora, Killua tells them that they can no longer avoid interacting with other players since they need to trade information and cards, adding that it's necessary to risk being attacked in order to obtain rare cards. Biscuit says that the cards that can only be obtained at certain times or the ones acquired by turning in sets of cards will take too long to get, explaining that they will have to get them through other players. Gon points out that almost none of the attack spell cards are in circulation and guesses that most players are hoarding them. In the end, Biscuit suggests that they move on to the next town to get new cards and negotiate with players they meet along the way, and the three decide to depart immediately.
The Bombers are contacted by Tsezguerra, who says that he has "Patch of Forest" and stresses that it's impossible to acquire it by any other means. Genthru reminds him that he isn't going to trade with them, but Tsezguerra adds in a "Clone" card and tells him to empty his specified slots except for "Angel's Breath." Genthru replies that he knows how to do it, but says that he can't afford to trade and points out that Tsezguerra's team has 92 cards. Tsezguerra says to himself that they actually have 95, but he keeps the information secret.
Genthru guesses that they're only lacking the cards that other players are monopolizing, believing that they may even have some of the items and are just waiting for another team to revert them. He also believes that No. 000 is an event item that can only be obtained once someone has 99 cards, guessing that "Angel's Breath" is the last card they need. Tsezguerra tells Genthru not to play dumb, revealing that he knows that Genthru has a monopoly on "Angel's Breath" and "Night Jade." He admits that they only need seven more cards, and Genthru wishes him good luck, saying to himself that Tsezguerra only needs five more.
Tsezguerra then offers them "Patch of Forest," "Spirited Away Hollow," and "Miniature Dragon" for "Night Jade" instead of "Angel's Breath." He points out that Genthru would be getting an SS-rank card and two S-rank cards for one A-rank card. Genthru says that his team needs to talk it over, and Tsezguerra gives him an hour to decide and says that he won't make any more concessions after this. Bara is eager to take the deal, but Sub fears that it may be a trap. Genthru points out that Tsezguerra doesn't pick fights, but always makes a deal that benefits him. He adds that Tsezguerra must think that he can get "Angel's Breath" another way.
Bara wonders if Tsezguerra has obtained all 40 spell cards, and Genthru says that it's possible, guessing that he's waiting for them to use one of their "Angel's Breath" cards. He says that they got a monopoly on the card by casting "Clone," but reminds them that they will have to use one if any of them are injured. He explains that unused items are automatically converted to cards in the order they were obtained, saying that Tsezguerra must have a "Voucher" card from trading in all 40 spell cards and that the card will change into "Angel's Breath" right after they use one of theirs. Sub points out that if one of their cards is destroyed, one of their "Night Jade" cards would convert into a card first. Genthru guesses that Tsezguerra must be aware of this and says that that's the reason why he is so eager to trade for "Night Jade" rather than "Angel's Breath."
Genthru realizes that it's a gamble for both of them, and Sub says that they will have 91 cards if they take the three that Tsezguerra is offering. Bara says that the two cards that pose the biggest problem are No. 2 and No. 75, the former of which is an SS-rank card ("Plot of Bleach") that no one has found. Sub says that the latter, "Wild Luck Alexandrite," is only A-rank, adding that they must have overlooked something. The three eventually agree to take the deal, and as Genthru looks at the two players they have taken captive, he says that luck will allow them to get any cards A-rank and below. He asks Sub how many "Risky Dice" they have left, and he says that they have five.
Genthru orders Motaricke to roll it, but he tearfully begs him and says that he can't take it anymore. Genthru says that it's only his third time and assures him that it won't kill him. Motaricke continues to protest and says that he knows someone who rolled a skull on his first try, pointing out that the effects of all the dice in the game add up. Genthru doesn't care and threatens to kill him right there, which forces Motaricke to roll. The roll is successful, and they hand him a "Lottery" card to use, promising to let him go if he gets the card they want. He uses the card, and it transforms into a "Roaming Ruby," with Sub and Bara saying that he was only one number off. They cheer him on to keep rolling, but even after several attempts, they don't get the card they want and have to buy more spell cards.
Bara says that he's concerned by how quickly a team composed of two boys and a girl has been obtaining cards lately. Sub says that they passed them in Masadora, and Genthru asks how many cards they have. Bara says that they have around 50, but worries about the pace at which they're collecting. He says that they have mostly A and B-rank, and Genthru wonders why he's so concerned, adding that they will get stuck at around 65. He stresses that the teams they should be the most concerned about are Tsezguerra's, Tokharone's, Hagakushi's, and the Bellam Brothers (Zetsk and Gashta). He also mentions that Phinks and Feitan only have a few cards, but they are particularly aggressive.
Bara suggests striking first, but Genthru says that fighting should be their last resort. Bara and Sub put forth a risky strategy which would cause negotiations to become impossible, but could also get them all eight cards they need at once: the combination of the Risky Dice and "Tax Collector's Gauntlet." All three realize how dangerous the strategy is, and Genthru says that it's too important to leave it up to their captives. Bara and Sub happily agree to take the risk, but Genthru snatches the dice from Motaricke and quickly rolls it, alarming his comrades and reminding them that they share all risks equally. After the roll is successful and Genthru confidently says that the strategy will work, they are contacted by Tsezguerra again and agree to take the deal.
