Face-Off: Part 1 (
Synopsis[]
Bopobo explains that the match starts when one of them enters the circle, adding that they can attack all at once. After he reminds them that all they have to do is force him outside and he will take them to his captain, Zeho volunteers and states that since he's an Enhancer, he will have the best chance. He focuses his breathing, and his aura and muscles increase in size, but Killua sees that he's out of practice since it took him far too long to build up Ren that small. Zeho charges into the circle and tries to move Bopobo back, but the pirate doesn't budge, impressed by Zeho's muscles. As Killua thinks to himself that he could personally beat Zeho without Nen, Bopobo grabs hold of Zeho and lifts him off the ground, squeezing him hard as Zeho begs him to stop and says that he wins.
Bopobo doesn't relent and licks his lips with delight, but Gon jumps in and kicks him in the face, forcing him to release Zeho. Bopobo reminds him that a person loses when they step outside the circle, not when they start to beg and plead. He then says that since Gon came over the flames to kick him and then jumped out, he loses as well. Realizing his mistake, Gon asks Bopobo to let him try again, and Bopobo replies that he doesn't mind and will even give him a handicap by staying right at the edge.
However, Killua gets Gon's attention and stops him, whispering that it wouldn't be a good idea to use his ability in front of everyone else. Gon argues that no one else but them can beat Bopobo, especially with Biscuit pretending to be scared. Killua says to leave it to him and confidently approaches the ring of fire. He says that he's pretty tough and asks Bopobo if he's ready for him. Bopobo replies that he will let Killua win if he can move him just one step.
Instead of walking into the circle, Killua strolls to the bar counter and asks the pirate if he works there. The pirate says that of course he doesn't and adds that the real owner is "sleeping" in the back. Killua then grabs a liquor bottle, promising to pay for it later, and breaks the top off it. Bopobo seems to realize what Killua is planning to do and warns him against it, but Killua quickly jumps onto his back and pours the liquor on his head, disorienting him as he uses his electricity to light his head on fire. As Bopobo screams out in pain and falls to his knees, his comrades try to enter the ring to help him, but Killua yells at them to stay back, reminding them that the only way to lose is to step outside the ring. Bopobo then rolls outside the boundary and yells at the others to put out the fire. Once it's extinguished, he turns toward Killua with a furious expression and begins charging toward him, but one of his comrades kicks him in the face before he can reach Killua, reminding him of his promise to the group. Bopobo apologizes, and the other pirate tells them to follow him.
The group is taken to a lighthouse by the coast, with the pirates explaining that it was converted into a fortress and that it was previously used to spot smugglers. Before they enter, Bopobo warns Killua that he will kill him, but Killua remains unfazed by the threat. The players are then led inside and surprised to find a sports facility. After Razor learns about the group and why they are there, he proposes a best-of-fifteen contest, explaining that each person can win a single point and the first team to reach eight points will be the winner. He says that they (Razor's group) will decide what they play and that if they (Razor's group) lose, they will leave the island. Goreinu speaks up and asks what happens if their group loses, and Razor assures them that they only have to leave the lighthouse.
Razor explains that the contest will involve a variety of sports, and Bopobo immediately challenges Killua to a sumo bout, but Killua tells him that they will fight last after his team has seven wins. One of the pirates calms Bopobo down and says that he will go first, telling them that his sport is boxing and then waiting for an opponent at the center of the ring. Razor repeats that each player can compete only once. After Kazsule confirms that they are allowed to use Nen, Montreux volunteers to fight.
