Two of a Kind +1 (()()()()()()()()()()(もの)(どう)()()()()()()()()2+1, Nitamono Dōshi no Jijō Purasu Ichi) is the 158th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis[]

In a restaurant, Goreinu asks Gon, Killua, and Biscuit if they know anyone to recruit, reminding them that they can't afford to waste any of the five "Magnetic Force" and "Accompany" cards they have. Killua asks Goreinu if he knows anyone, but Goreinu replies that that's the reason why he was playing the game by himself. Gon says he has trouble remembering all of the players they've encountered thus far. Still, Killua adds that while the list is constantly growing, "Chrollo" would be the strongest among them, even though Kurapika was confident that it wasn't him. Gon gets the idea of asking Binolt, but Killua isn't sure if he's still around, and after they check Gon's book, they see that the light beside his name is off, which Goreinu says means that he either left the game or died. He reminds them of Jeet's death in Antokiba and says that his name should also be in Gon's book.

Chap 158 - Gon and Killua looking through the list of players they've met

Gon and Killua looking through the list of players they've met

Gon and Killua look through the long list of names by having a "Peek" card in the slot, noticing that many of the lights have gone dark. Goreinu asks to take a look and recognizes Gashta, Cuzco, and Zenju, fellow Hunters also hired by Battera. Killua asks him if he knows everyone Battera hired, but Goreinu says that he only knows a few he met through work. He tells them that Gashta and Zetsk are brothers (known as the Bellam Brothers), but while both are skilled, they wouldn't work with anyone. He also mentions that Sakisuke is skilled in combat, but not as good as himself, and since he's a greedy person, he would demand more than his share. Killua says that they should keep him in mind for the time being and points out that Latarza was the player who cast a spell on him, saying that the three players between him and Nickes are the ones they must have passed on the street.

As the two continue looking through the list and try to remember when they met certain players, Goreinu reminds them that they're looking for strong allies, but Gon and Killua can't remember if any of them would be worth recruiting. Biscuit speaks up and says that someone they haven't met in the game yet may be a good candidate: Tsezguerra. However, Goreinu says that he would prefer not to ask him since his group has just as many cards as the Bomber, so it's unlikely they would help without receiving one of the cards. Killua says that the other option is to use "Collision" to speak with random players, but it may not be a good idea.

Chap 158 - Goreinu helping Gon and Killua

Goreinu helping Gon and Killua

Gon suggests finding out the identity of "Chrollo" first, and Killua says that the person has to be a member of the Phantom Troupe, guessing that they took the JoyStation Console that was reported stolen. Gon wonders why they didn't use their own name, and Killua says that he's used the name "Evans" before, but says that Gon's question is important to figure out. They wonder why the person is playing the game, with both assuming that the person is there to clear the game like they are, but Goreinu says that they should find out whether that's their actual purpose or not. He suggests casting "Clairvoyance" on the player and says that since they've been in the game a while, they'll be able to tell if the person really cares about collecting cards.

They check the player's collection and see that they have no specified slot cards and only six free slot cards, all of which are food and water. They are certain that the person is in the game to do something else, and Goreinu says that if they team up with them, they won't have to give the person the card once they complete the quest. Gon worries about them being a Troupe member, but says that they need to talk to them. As he and Killua argue back and forth about whether they should meet with the person, Goreinu asks Biscuit if the two are okay, and she assures him that it happens all the time. Gon wins out in the end, and as they prepare to travel to the player, Goreinu becomes worried about the two friends bickering, saying to himself that Gon's performance at the tryouts and the number of cards they have are the only things keeping him from leaving.

Chap 158 - The group encountering Hisoka

The group encountering Hisoka

The group uses an "Accompany" card to travel to "Chrollo Lucilfer," but when they land near a pool of water, they find a naked Hisoka bathing. He is happy to see Gon and Killua, emitting some bloodlust which causes the two to display their Ren. He sees that both of them have matured and guesses that they have found a good teacher. He is eager for them to ripen into sweet fruit, and Goreinu asks who the pervert is and if he's Chrollo. Gon and Killua both say no, and Hisoka first asks Goreinu if he's their teacher, but then sees a drooling Biscuit, who runs away embarrassed and hides behind a tree.

Hisoka thinks to himself that she must be their teacher and guesses that she's a Transmuter, asking aloud what they wanted with Chrollo. Gon asks him what he's doing in Greed Island, and Hisoka wonders what to say, thinking that if he tells them the truth, they may stop him from meeting the Exorcist. He considers it, but says that he doesn't want his battle with Chrollo to be delayed any longer. Finally, he answers that he's looking for Chrollo, telling them that there's a way to remove Kurapika's Nen called Exorcism.

He says that he wanted to tell Chrollo about it and remembered that some of the Troupe members were interested in the game, which is why he used Chrollo's name to get their attention. Gon and Killua both remember that Hisoka was only pretending to be a member of the Troupe before. Hisoka says that while Chrollo may already know about Exorcism and finding a good Exorcist is incredibly difficult, he wants to do everything he can to get Chrollo to fight him. He then asks them why they traveled to him, saying that it couldn't have been just to ask why he's in the game, but Gon says that that was the only reason. Killua adds that Gon wanted to see who was using Chrollo's name, and Gon remembers the warning Gotoh gave him before about being deceived.

Chap 158 - Biscuit asking Hisoka to help them

Biscuit asking Hisoka to help them

Putting on an innocent act, Biscuit speaks up and says that they are looking for strong allies, politely asking for Hisoka's help. Hisoka agrees to help, but wonders why they are looking for someone strong. Goreinu isn't sure about Hisoka, and Killua says that she doesn't know what he's like. With her back turned to Hisoka, she says that she feels a connection to him, but uses her aura to tell them that he's lying. As she begins to explain the situation to Hisoka, Goreinu becomes even more worried about teaming up with him.
