Face-Off: Part 3 (
Synopsis[]
As the rest of the group waits for him, Hisoka undoes his Texture Surprise on the list of names, revealing both "Shizuku" and "Phinks" as he smiles. The five of them use an "Accompany" card to travel to Tsezguerra, and Goreinu first tells him that they want 10% of the 50 billion reward in exchange for information on "Plot of Bleach." Tsezguerra is hesitant, and Goreinu stresses that it will be almost impossible to discover it otherwise. Tsezguerra replies that they obtained "Patch of Forest" through luck, explaining that they bought a cloned copy from someone who took it from another person who won it using "Lottery." He makes sure that they don't have the card yet, and Goreinu says that if they had the card, they wouldn't be asking for so much in return. Tsezguerra agrees to the deal, and Goreinu explains the situation regarding the card.
Tsezguerra realizes why they wanted to meet in person and asks if they want to team up to acquire the card. He notes Goreinu's group of five and says that he has four including himself, which will make a total of nine, asking what they should do about the rest. Goreinu replies that they can just recruit players who are having trouble returning to the real world, and Tsezguerra realizes that they won't have to share any cards with them. He asks if the nine of them can win the eight matches, and Goreinu says that while they can't be completely sure, they should be stronger than all the pirates except their boss. After he adds that they can retry with a different team if they fail, Killua jumps in and asks Tsezguerra to prove that he's worth recruiting.
After Tsezguerra recognizes that the tables have turned since Battera's tryouts, he readies himself and leaps high up into the air, hovering in place as Gon and Killua look on in amazement. He chuckles and says that he could jump even higher, telling them that his personal best is over 16 meters. Killua realizes that he must have focused his aura in his feet before he launched, and Gon says that they should try it. The two ready themselves and leap into the air, easily going higher than Tsezguerra as he wonders in disbelief how they improved so quickly. All three land and Tsezguerra says that he could still go higher, with Gon adamant about trying it again and again to beat Killua, who tells Tsezguerra that he passes.
Goreinu apologizes for their childishness as the two repeatedly leap into the air. He tells Tsezguerra that while they trust his skills, the quest involves playing sports and so determining who will play what is vital. Tsezguerra asks about them, and Goreinu goes through the eight they have confirmed, guessing that the pirates may change them up if they start to lose. Tsezguerra chooses beach volleyball, Goreinu goes with wrestling, Killua volunteers for sumo again (as Gon keeps challenging him to the jumping contest). Barry says that he has a strategy for boxing, and Gon is left wondering what he will do. Rodriot chooses bowling, confident that he can have a perfect game using Nen while also countering any tricks his opponent uses. Hisoka picks soccer juggling and says that his Bungee Gum will make things a lot easier.
As two others choose free throw shooting and ping pong, Gon is left without anything, but Tsezguerra approaches him and says that he can be his partner in beach volleyball, confident in Gon's jumping ability but adding that he needs to practice. Barry checks his book and suddenly sees that Genthru has reached 97 cards. Both Gon and Killua realize that Genthru's team only needs "Plot of Bleach" and "Wild Luck Alexandrite" to clear the game.
After recruiting six more players and practicing for one week, the group of fifteen stands outside the lighthouse, and Tsezguerra says that they can't afford to lose now that Genthru is so close. They walk inside the large gymnasium, and Barry enters the ring to take on the pirate boxer. He immediately moves in close, and the pirate boxer realizes that he no longer has the advantage as an Emitter. The pirate boxer does his best to guard, but as Barry lands a hard strike to his gut, Tsezguerra explains that the pattern on the canvas is called Divine Script and augments Nen. He adds that it took the boxer hours to apply it and surmises that his teleportation only works there, which means he isn't an opponent to worry about. Barry's punches overwhelm the boxer, and he wins the group their first point. Rodriot then wins in bowling and Kess wins in free throw shooting.
Razor eyes Gon, Killua, Biscuit, Hisoka, Goreinu, and Tsezguerra, recognizing their strength and saying that they will make things interesting. He gives the pirates the signal to lose their matches on purpose, assuring them that he has things under control. The others follow his command, but Bopobo refuses to cooperate and throws his cap down in anger. He challenges Killua to a fight and threatens to kill him on the spot, but Razor reminds Bopobo of the contract and that he will return to jail. Bopobo remains agitated and says that he's tired of playing the game. The new recruits look on in confusion, and Bopobo says that they can take Razor down if they all work together, adding that they can then use a boat to escape the island. However, Razor suddenly forms a ball of aura and throws it toward Bopobo's head, shattering his skull open as his body falls to the floor. The main six put on serious expressions, and Razor explains that breaking the taboo is deserving of punishment, wondering why Bopobo disobeyed him if he was aware of that fact. The six recruits are terrified by the carnage, and Razor says that it's his turn to compete.
