Synopsis[]

Chap 168 - Gon's final strike against Razor

Gon's final strike against Razor

As Gon makes contact with the ball, Razor bends his knees and readies himself for the attack, still coming to grips with Gon's power and worried that the force would push him outside the court if he catches the ball. However, he doesn't back down once the ball starts to rocket toward him. As he seems to prepare for another bump, Tsezguerra's teammates see this and confidently say that Hisoka will use his Bungee Gum to snatch the ball out of the air again. Now grinning, Razor receives the strike and, instead of bumping it up into the air, redirects it right back toward Gon, making the others anxious and causing Tsezguerra to yell for Gon to duck since it will still allow him to win.

Razor says to himself that Gon won't duck since it isn't the way he wants to win, but Gon suddenly falls down as the ball passes over him. As Gon lies unconscious on the floor, Razor is left stunned and Tsezguerra recognizes that Gon used up all of his aura during the fight, adding that he can be proud of his victory over Razor. However, Hisoka says that it's not over yet, suddenly readying his Bungee Gum. Tsezguerra yells out in confusion over Hisoka's decision, but as the smiling Hisoka says that Gon wanted to defeat Razor completely, he uses his ability to contain the force of Razor's redirect, injuring both his hands to redirect the ball right back.

Chap 168 - Hisoka's Bungee Gum ensuring total victory

Hisoka's Bungee Gum ensuring total victory

Barry and Rodriot are amazed that Hisoka bounced it back, and Razor is happy to have a volleying contest to see who can last the longest. However, when the ball makes contact with his arms and he prepares to bump it back, the ball immediately sticks there, leaving Razor in disbelief. As Hisoka explains that his Bungee Gum has the properties of both rubber and gum, the force of Hisoka's redirect pushes Razor outside the court, with the ball still stuck to his arms.

The others eagerly wait for the call, and the referee announces that since Razor caught the ball while part of his body is touching outside the court, he is now out. As Gon's team is declared the winner of the match, Hisoka sees that both of his hands are busted, a smiling Killua sits on the floor, and Gon regains consciousness, wondering what happened as Tsezguerra's teammates begin to wildly cheer. The ball falls from Razor's arms, and he seems happy that Gon achieved his total victory. Gon learns that Hisoka was the one who sealed the win, but Hisoka says that they all worked together, which they point out seems very out of character for him.

With one of his shoes split open, Razor approaches Gon and Killua and says that he and his pirates will leave the town now. Both Gon and Killua forgot that that was the goal of the quest, but before leaving, Razor says that he will answer Gon's questions about Ging, causing Gon's eyes to widen with surprise.
