Three-Way Struggle: Part 1 (()()()()()()()()()()(ともえ)()()()()()()()()()(こう)(ぼう)()()()()()()()()①, Mitsu Domoe no Kōbō (Ichi)) is the 170th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis[]

Genthru recognizes Gon's name and says he knows that his group has "Wild Luck Alexandrite." He threatens to kill Gon after Tsezguerra, but asks him if he will hand over his cards now. Gon yells back that he should come to them, threatening to fight him now and almost revealing that he has "Plot of Bleach" as well, but Biscuit holds him back and drowns him out, with Killua telling Tsezguerra to talk somewhere else. However, Tsezguerra tells them that the time limit for "Contact" ran out.

Chap 170 - Genthru, Bara, and Sub spying on Tsezguerra and Gon's teams

Genthru, Bara, and Sub spying on Tsezguerra and Gon's teams

Still watching the group from a cliff in the distance, Genthru discusses the situation with Sub and Bara, the latter of whom suggests that they take a copy of "Plot of Beach" from the kids. Genthru points out that it would be a cloned copy, adding that they need to use "Paladin's Necklace" to check if it's fake, which will also change back a cloned card. He is sure that Gon will back down once Tsezguerra surrenders, saying that Gon is only confident because Tsezguerra is protecting him. He tells his two comrades that they can't allow Tsezguerra any time to recover, especially since he's a Single-Star Hunter and they don't know his ability.

Back outside the lighthouse, Tsezguerra tells the three that Genthru is assuming that his team will have the original "Plot of Beach," explaining that while Paladin's Necklace reveals faked cards, it ruins actual cards made with "Clone" and "Mimic." He says that they will use Genthru's wrong assumption to their advantage, promising to buy Gon as much time as possible while he heals his injuries. He reminds Gon that a fight is inevitable and that his group has the best chance of defeating Genthru. He then becomes serious and chastises Gon for not controlling his emotions, asking him what would have happened to Killua with his injuries if Genthru's team had met them like he wanted. He also reminds Gon that he used up all his aura and won't be able to move until tomorrow, again stressing that he put not only himself at risk but his friends as well.

After an ashamed Gon apologizes, Tsezguerra moves on to the plan and says that they don't want to run away from Genthru's team for too long or they may get suspicious and target Gon instead. He promises to hold off Genthru's team for no longer than a week, and Killua thinks to himself that it won't be enough time, also worried that Genthru's team will come after them before then. Goreinu brings up the subject of joining forces with Tsezguerra's team and again asks the three what they think, but Tsezguerra says that forming an alliance has few benefits now that the situation has changed. He adds that any surprise attacks would be pointless now and that the two remaining cards that Genthru's team needs shouldn't be kept in one group.

Chap 170 - Tsezguerra offering an exchange to Gon's team

Tsezguerra offering an exchange to Gon's team

Tsezguerra then proposes a trade and offers to buy Gon's team three weeks in exchange for "Wild Luck Alexandrite." Killua is confused since one week was the maximum before, but Tsezguerra says that it was the maximum if they were trying to run away, explaining that if they go on the offensive, the risk will increase but Genthru's team will keep their focus on them in a war of attrition. Killua says that they can just tell them how to acquire the card, but Tsezguerra replies that they already know how, explaining that everyone in their group (including Goreinu) has few empty slots, which makes it impossible for them to give all their cards to the villagers. He says that three weeks won't be enough time for Killua's hands to heal or for them to match Genthru's power, and Killua realizes that they need to form a strategy during that time. Tsezguerra confirms this and says that they need to create a situation where they will have the advantage over Genthru's team.

Gon agrees to the deal of three weeks, and Tsezguerra reminds him that the Bombers have killed over 50 players, stressing that they have to fight them if they want to clear the game. After Tsezguerra and his team leave, Biscuit knows that the three weeks won't be enough, but she takes charge and tells Killua to focus on healing his hands and puts him in charge of coming up with a strategy. She tells Gon that he will practice with her and stresses that he needs to be able to avoid Genthru's Little Flower at the minimum.

Chap 170 - Hisoka, Nobunaga, and Machi tracking Abengane

Hisoka, Nobunaga, and Machi tracking Abengane

Elsewhere, Phinks and Hisoka use "Accompany" to travel to the other Troupe members. Hisoka asks where their friend is, and Shalnark says that Machi and Nobunaga are following him, holding one of Machi's threads and telling him to follow it. Phinks says that the negotiation with the exorcist is up to him, adding that they will pay the exorcist whatever he asks. He tells Hisoka to get the job done, and Hisoka knows that it's his only way to be able to fight Chrollo. Meeting up with Machi and Nobunaga, he uses a spyglass to see the exorcist in disguise at a restaurant. After Hisoka asks how they found him, Nobunaga quickly refuses to tell him, but Hisoka senses something lurking behind him and asks if it was their ability. Nobunaga calls him a freak for sensing the person without using Nen, and a chuckling Hisoka says that a recent fight has left him sensitized, adding that he would be happy to ravage someone to soothe his urge.

Machi tells the person to come out, and Kalluto reveals himself, asking if his Zetsu wasn't good enough. They assure him that Hisoka is just abnormal, and Nobunaga introduces Kalluto as Hisoka's replacement in the Troupe. Kalluto says that he used his ability to find the exorcist, but refuses to tell Hisoka how he did it. Hisoka describes him as tasty, and the two other Spiders warn Kalluto that Hisoka will go after anything. Nobunaga bugs Hisoka about making a deal with the exorcist, and Hisoka replies that he will get it done for his own sake. Machi asks him if he really plans to fight Chrollo, and Hisoka asks her who she wants to live. She quickly answers that Hisoka can drop dead after he completes the job, but when he asks her what she will do if he kills Chrollo, a fire ignites in her eyes and she calmly tells him that she will chase him down and kill him herself.

Chap 170 - Tsezguerra's team meeting Genthru, Bara, and Sub outside Masadora

Tsezguerra's team meeting Genthru, Bara, and Sub outside Masadora

In Masadora, Tsezguerra tells his team that since Genthru is monopolizing "Angel's Breath," they need to force him to use one so they can convert their "Voucher" card. He says that the ideal way would be to steal it, but explains that getting it with "Levy" isn't very likely. He adds that other methods are dangerous and have a low chance to succeed. Barry speaks up and says that it's why Gon's team is vital. Tsezguerra is confident that whether Gon's team wins or not, they will surely injure one of the Bombers, forcing them to use just one of their "Angel's Breath" cards to heal their comrade. Tsezguerra says that their "Voucher" will immediately transform into the card, with just "Wild Luck Alexandrite" left. Barry and Rodriot interject, saying that they will get the latter first because they will have bought Gon's team three weeks of time. Kess wonders what the plan will be if Genthru's team doesn't have to use an "Angel's Breath," and Tsezguerra replies that it all depends on the No. 0 event, but he keeps their focus on the mission at hand. He tells them that it's time, and the four original members meet up with the Bombers, standing opposite with all their books open.
