The Hunt (狩り, Hanto) is the 190th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.
Synopsis
Ponzu's messenger bee returns, receiving no reply to the message she sent to another group of Hunters in NGL. Pokkle deducts that they likely have been killed by the Chimera Ants and states that they should leave the place and initiate contact for support to annihilate the Ants. Just as Pekuba agrees with the idea, a Chimera Ant comes out of the ground behind him and decapitates him. Before they could suffer any more casualties, Pokkle uses his Nen ability and shoots his Red Arrow through the Ant's head, killing it.
But before they could run away to avoid more Chimera Ants, Pike shows up. Pokkle aims and shoots his fastest arrow, the Orange Arrow, at him, but Pike easily catches it. Pike is also able to see his Nen, and tries to catch him, deducing that he would be a nutritious meal for the Queen. He shoots a web at him, in order to catch Pokkle, but Pokkle dodges and the web sticks to Balda. Pike pulls Balda towards him and bites off his head. Angered, Pokkle jumps at him and starts punching him. As he has Balda's corpse in his hands, Pike is not able to defend himself and is repeatedly hit. The attack finally stops when Zazan suddenly appears and stings Pokkle on the back of his neck, causing him to fall unconscious. She then reprimands Pike for his near defeat and tells him that he could just have dropped the corpse to protect himself from Pokkle's attacks. Pike praises his Squadron Leader and the two head off to feed Pokkle to the Queen.
Meanwhile, Ponzu is able to escape undetected from the Chimera Ants and, knowing that she can't rescue Pokkle alone, sends a message asking for help through one of her bees. She instructs it to deliver it to a Hunter with a strong aura. After that, she heads towards the border, thinking that it would be safe there. However, she is shot in the head by a Gun-toting Ant, who then eats her.
The bee finds Kite's group and gives them the message. Kite orders Stick and Podungo to return to the communication center and tells them to contact the committee and inform them about the dangerous Ants. He then jumps off his horse, stating that it will be too slow. Gon and Killua follow suit. The three then begin to run towards where the SOS came from, leaving their flabbergasted interpreter and horses, behind.
