Two Enemies (2人の敵, Futari no Teki) is 23rd chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

Synopsis

The lottery draw will determine the hunter and the prey. The examiners put the numbers of the remaining examinees inside a box. Each person draws a number which marks their prey. Whoever draws the number corresponding to their own is their hunter. All examinees need six points in order to pass. Successfully protecting their own plate is worth three points, while taking their prey's plate is worth another three points. If they fail to get their prey's plate, they can steal other examinees' plates which are worth one point each.

The examinees are taken to Zevil Island, accompanied by Khara. Killua approaches Gon and asks him which number he drew. They decide to show each other at the same time. To Killua's surprise, Gon picked Hisoka's number, #44. Killua asks Gon if he knows who #199 is. He claims that everyone has already hidden their plate numbers, making it difficult for him. Gon knows he cannot beat Hisoka in a normal battle, but since all he has to do is steal the plate, he may be able to get lucky. Killua leaves and tells Gon to stay alive.

On Zevil Island, the examinees take turns entering the island in the order they made it to the bottom of the tower. Hisoka is the first to leave. There is a two minute delay between each examinee. Kurapika remarks that the earlier examinees have an advantage because they can hide faster and also keep an eye on their prey. The examinees have exactly one week on the island. Gon immediately looks for Hisoka, but he feels someone is watching him from afar. Geretta is shown to be hiding in the trees and stalking Gon, who happens to be his prey.
