Charge: Part 1 (
Synopsis[]
As the Extermination Team ready themselves outside the palace, and decides to charge all at once through the exit by the central staircase, Leol's Squad Captain, Hina, complains about her Exorcism ability making her lose her figure, especially if she has to exorcise a powerful ability. Shidore, a peon in Leol's Squad, listens on in silence as Hina asks her to talk for once.
While on the phone, Bizeff nervously walks down a corridor and tells the person on the other end to shoot the escaped woman on sight (referring to Palm). As he continues to panic, Welfin appears and reminds him not to use his cell phone up there since the frequencies give them headaches, though they are able to listen in on any conversations. He threatens to rip Bizeff's arm off if he does it again, but Bizeff pleads that it's important. Welfin wonders how important a runaway woman is, but then offers to help him find her, only needing a piece of clothing to pick up a trail. Bizeff is grateful and goes off to get it. Welfin plans to be in charge behind the scenes and understands that he needs to take down Bizeff to do so.
A peon informs Welfin of an emergency, and he's led to Knov's shoes by a puddle of Taragetter's blood. Given the shoes' condition, Welfin knows that they're from an intruder and wonders why they would have come just to kill Taragetter. He considers asking Pouf for advice, but decides to catch them on his own. Sniffing one of the shoes, he picks up the trail leading further into the palace, and prioritizes it over helping Bizeff, enlisting two of his soldiers to help him, Inzagi and Maenole. Elsewhere in the palace, Bloster and Cheetu meet up, with the latter saying he's finally mastered his new ability. Bloster wishes him luck and leaves Cheetu disappointed that he didn't want to know more.
Komugi sits alone at a Gungi board with all the pieces arranged, saddened that the King wouldn't give her his name as she longs to play him again. Also alone, the King looks out at the mindless crowd of humans and thinks about his identity and purpose, lamenting the fact that he has no name and his castle isn't his own. He begins laughing maniacally, saying he only fears how bored he will become if this is his destiny. Youpi follows him as he walks down a corridor, and the King orders him to stop, striking him in the face with his tail as he begins to give an excuse. Pitou watches on, and Youpi informs them that the King has said that their En is annoying him. Pitou asks the King if they could make a hole in their aura around him so that their En would no longer be a distraction. The King quickly rejects this, saying that it would force him to stay in one spot since Pitou would have to watch his every move otherwise. He orders Pitou to only use En outside of the palace, but Pitou considers the possibility of intruders, especially those being manipulated and entering the palace from underground.
The King becomes annoyed and allows them to maintain their En only up to the first floor and to not let anyone come up to the second, including the Royal Guards themselves. The three meet at the palace's outer wall, and Pouf tells Youpi to stay at the central staircase, in case any intruders come from below. Youpi recognizes that the King's losses to Komugi are causing him frustration, and Pouf knows that he could use Spiritual Message on him to determine the exact cause, but recognizes that it would be the greatest insult. He begins to feel incredibly anxious and afraid of what could be happening to the King.
