Synopsis[]

Chap 273 - Pouf entering his cocoon

Pouf entering his cocoon

Pouf and Morel stand opposite each other in the latter's Smoky Jail. Morel remembers that Knov said the butterfly dust has a hypnotic effect, and so he makes sure not to breathe any of it in. Pouf commends him for not talking, and begins analyzing him with his ability, Spiritual Message, identifying vigilance, resolve, and confidence in a 2:3:5 ratio. He introduces himself and continues his analysis internally. It's stated that Spiritual Message allows Pouf to diffuse his butterfly scales to analyze one's aura flow and consequently one's emotional patterns to infer their thoughts. As Morel's vigilance increases, Pouf is disappointed that he won't even give his name in return, assuring him that he's not being tricked into breathing in the scales. And right then, Pouf envelops himself within a dark cocoon and asks Morel to wait a moment while he's reborn. Unfazed, Morel is content with Pouf taking as much time as he wants.

Chap 273 - Ikalgo using Flutter's ability to search for Palm

Ikalgo using Flutter's ability to search for Palm

The elevator to the basement is explained in detail, allowing anyone to descend but requiring a code to go back up. A different eight-digit code is given to each person to track usage, and if the wrong code is entered, it triggers a siren and the door is locked. Multiple errors alert the security guards and fill the elevator with sleeping gas, resulting in the intruder's arrest and then death by torture. The records are closely monitored by Bizeff on his computer. Ikalgo makes his way to the basement, using the code that Marcos had given to Morel. He uses Flutter's Satellite Dragonflies to desperately search for Palm. Even though he has never met her, he considers her a friend and respects the risk she took in infiltrating the palace, resolved not to leave until he finds her.

As Welfin approaches the elevator, it's stated that it also includes a security camera and scale, and goes back up on its own once it's confirmed to be empty at the bottom. To return upstairs, the elevator allows only once occupant since the weight must match the data corresponding to an individual's unique code. If the weight deviates considerably, the alarm goes off and traps the person in the elevator. The only two exempt from this restriction are Bizeff and Marcos, who often bring in various objects including people, and so using the freight entrance would be tedious for them.

Chap 273 - Gon seeing Pitou for the first time since the attack on Kite

Gon seeing Pitou for the first time since the attack on Kite

Welfin smells a terrible odor coming from the elevator, and wonders if Flutter has been living in a morgue. He is also able to detect Bloster, who went down before him, but can't identify another faint scent, with his sense of smell affected by that from Flutter's corpse. He wonders whether Bloster also noticed Flutter's use of "Hagya", but then worries that Bloster was watching him while he was watching them. He panics and considers the possibility that Bloster went down the elevator first in order to set up an ambush to kill him. He had hoped to set up Flutter as the one who planted the bomb, so Bizeff would see the value he has. But right as he thinks of Bizeff, he worries that he could have died during the attack on the palace, and makes it his first priority to find him.

Gon and Killua land on the opposite rooftop and Zeno greets them, saying that he's completed his mission and knows nothing beyond it. He only tells them that it's their call to make inside, holding back the rest of what he wanted to say as he leaves. Gon and Killua slowly enter the tower, and witness Doctor Blythe in the process of healing Komugi, with Pitou crouched beside her. With a look of angry determination, Gon asks them if they remember him, telling them his name and declaring he's here to restore Kite.
