Magic (
Synopsis[]
Meruem touches down inside the palace grounds, and the others immediately feel his presence. Pouf's segments begin to carry off the Gungi board and pieces, looking for Welfin as well, and Ikalgo looks for another corpse to take over, but the ones he finds are too mangled to use. Knuckle and Meleoron walk through the crowd of hypnotized citizens, with the former saying that A.P.R. won't increase its interest from where they are, also worrying about when Pouf and the King separate, unsure if he should deactivate the A.P.R. on Pouf and then try to use it on the King. Pouf informs Meruem of the cocoons he walks by, telling him that they contain humans who will be skilled for combat once they hatch. Palm meets up with Killua, who is still carrying the unconscious Komugi. She tells him the King's location and thinks they should hide among the crowd. Killua asks her about Gon and Pitou, and she replies that they just reached Peijin and Kite's location.
She explains more about her observation ability, Wink Blue, which allows her to keep track of someone if she's seen them with just her right eye. She can then monitor them with just her left eye. Like different channels on a television, she is currently watching Gon/Pitou, herself/Killua, and Pouf/Youpi/the King. She can have up to three people registered at once (so currently, Pouf, Gon, and Killua). If she has three people registered and looks at someone else with her right eye, the oldest is replaced (Pouf, in this case). Killua thinks they don't need to observe Pouf anyway since Palm can only see his core, but she believes that may be the key to defeating him because destroying the core would result in Pouf's death. Observing them from the bushes, one of Pouf's segments worries that they have figured him out, but gleefully wants them to see what Gon and Pitou are up to. Killua awkwardly thanks her for helping out and considers her a friend. He asks her how Gon is doing, but as she goes to check, she sees something that leaves her in disbelief and makes Killua worried.
Gon and Pitou enter the mansion, and the former directs them to Kite's location. Given the silence and Pitou's extraordinary hearing, they were able to hear a voice from a cell phone in their pocket. Welfin speaks, saying that he and Bloster recovered Komugi, putting her on the phone. She says she's safe, and this leaves Pitou with a serious look on their face. Welfin is shown hanging up the phone and asks for a doctor to treat his wounds, as Pouf is shown with Komugi's head, revealing that he can reconfigure his cells to affect even the vocal cords. Pouf declares that Pitou is now under his spell too, hoping it will finally release them from Komugi's curse.
Gon and Pitou reach Kite, who rests on his knees facing the other way. Gon orders them to heal Kite and agrees to let Komugi go afterward. Pitou asks for his name again, and once he gives it, they tell him that they feel the need, to be honest with him since he let them heal Komugi. Suddenly revealing that Kite is already dead. They say he died when the two first fought, and Kite's body slumps face down onto the floor. As Gon begins to cry, Pitou says their ability is unable to revive the dead, only able to preserve and manipulate bodies since the soul is gone. They apologize to Gon as he drops to his knees and remembers Kite scolding him when he was younger. He says to himself that he's the one who killed Kite, and continues to blame himself as he remembers when Kite entrusted him with Ging's Hunter License. Now looking upon his body lying motionless on the floor.
