Final Will (
Synopsis[]
Shrouded in darkness, Meruem and Komugi continue playing Gungi as the former asks her if she's still there. She assures him she is, and then declares checkmate. He asks her again, and she reassures him, telling him they need to start another game and that the loser goes first. Meruem says he was never able to beat her even once, but she consoles him by saying that they still have many matches to play. As the two keep exchanging moves, Meruem keeps ensuring Komugi is still present, eventually telling her he feels a little tired. He says he will take a short nap and asks her to keep holding his hand. She assures him that she's still there, and he tells her he will wake up shortly, asking if she will stay by his side until then.
She promises the two of them will always be together, with Meruem thanking her and asking if she will utter his name for a final time. She says good night, addressing him without the honorific, as the two are finally shown together, Meruem lying down with Komugi still holding his hand and using her other arm to support his head on her lap. With blood all around them, and blood now on Komugi's face, she assures him that he won't be alone, that she will join him shortly.
It's stated that 478,594 citizens died as a result of the selection. 12,905 soldiers were dead, and 46,613 people became ill after coming out of Pouf's hypnosis and then died within 24 hours. Both the Republic of East Gorteau and NGL were punished by the International Security Agency, and the two were completely broken up. The now five million refugees were accepted by the other three countries within the Mitene Union, with the stipulation that East Gorteau's resources and territory be divided equally among them. Finally, it was decided that the lands of NGL would become a nature reserve and that the Hunter Association would have control of them.
The video message from Netero is shown, with him announcing his resignation as Chairman and declaring that an election will decide his successor. The only condition he gives is that all Hunters must vote, and if there isn't a 95% turnout, the results are to be ignored and a revote called. Lastly, he says the details will be handled by the Zodiacs, estimating the mission's difficulty level to be "D" and waving goodbye. Eleven individuals are then shown standing outside the Association's headquarters.
