At a conference, Mizaistom claims that the murderer was not motivated by stress, but rather, by desire. He declares that the murders are linked to the Succession Contest. The listeners refuse to believe that the princes would harm irrelevant civilians, but Mizaistom explains that in the prince's eyes (ignorant to the existence of aura and Nen), their powers have come because of human sacrifice, and they will continue to kill to preserve and increase their abilities. He warns that the continuation of murders would lead to chaos that would ultimately result in the ship's demise, and urges swift action because of the disproportionately small level of security placed on the lower classes. Mizaistom suggests redistributing the soldiers so that more would be on the third deck and below. Botobai and Mizaistom discuss the fragility of the peace and order in the current situation.
Ken'i takes Feitan, Phinks, and Nobunaga to the Cha-R Family base. He shows them the footage of the man who entered the warehouse, though there is no footage within the warehouse. Ken'i brings the Troupe members inside the adjacent door in exchange for their service to hunt down the killer of the Cha-R family members. There, they meet Tsudonke and his squad, with whom he pairs the Troupe members.
A martially-enforced curfew is imposed on the third deck and below because of the string of murders. Corporal Mizuri accompanied by some soldiers find Illumi and Kalluto on the deck. Illumi shows Mizuri his permit, but the soldier orders him to return nonetheless. Illumi refuses, and Botobai and Mizaistom arrive, vindicating him by explaining that he is a Hunter. When the soldiers leave, Mizaistom asks Illumi if the Phantom Troupe is on-board. Illumi confirms this, but refuses to explain any further. Mizaistom offers him a place to stay, and expresses anxiety over the presence of the Spiders, especially about their relationship with Kurapika. He wonders whether he should inform Kurapika, who is already in a high level of stress. A guard tells Mizaistom that they found someone without an ID. He goes to the interrogation room, and it is revealed to be Fugetsu.
