Synopsis[]
As a large crowd gathers near the scene and voices their concerns, the soldiers try to calm them down by assuring them that the perpetrator of the previous incidents has already been arrested. With one passenger pointing it out, Padaille rises to his feet with aura swelling around him and stands beside Hinrigh. Three soldiers approach the two and ask Padaille if he wants to press charges. Padaille assures them that they resolved the issue after a brief fight, and Hinrigh says that the gunshots seen were used against him. One soldier recognizes him as the Xi-Yu underboss, and Hinrigh confirms it, saying that Padaille is only a civilian.
After telling Padaille that he is free to go, the soldier warns Hinrigh that they won't be able to cover for him anymore if he keeps attacking civilians. He then asks in a hushed voice how much Hinrigh is willing to pay for information on the location of the Heil-Ly's boss. When Hinrigh replies with 50 million as long as the information is reliable, the soldier asks for the money upfront, but Hinrigh says he needs to confirm the details first. The soldier points out that he's risking his own life to sell out a Mafia boss and needs at least 30 million upfront. He explains that when he asked the man in charge of the Black Whale's wiring about certain workers who were silenced, he told him to be quiet about it. He reveals that they were wiring a room that doesn't appear on the ship's plans, guessing that it must belong to the Heil-Ly if the Xi-Yu doesn't have a secret hideout.
Hinrigh tells the soldier to wait there until he gets the money, adding that he has to lead him there himself. After agreeing to the deal, the soldier tells the crowd that they are free to pass and assures them that soldiers will keep watch for a while longer. As the crowd watches the wounded Padaille walking away from the scene, a woman with a bullet hole in her head is seen riding on his back. She is revealed to be Misha Hao, a deceased Xi-Yu member. Previously the family's undertaker, her post-mortem Nen ability causes her to appear and inconspicuously dispose of any person killed by a Xi-Yu member. Once the corpse has been dealt with, she vanishes.
Elsewhere on Tier 3, Zakuro's drops of blood continue their search for Hisoka. A drop spots a tall man with dark skin, and Zakuro confirms that they found another one, leading Lynch to the target. Lynch asks if he is Hisoka, but the man is left confused by the question. She repeats herself, and as he begins to say that she has the wrong guy, Lynch punches him in the midsection to use her ability, causing his inner soul to say that he is not. As his two friends check on him and threaten to call the authorities, Lynch says that they are dead if they get in the way of the Xi-Yu's manhunt, telling them to come by their hideout on Tier 4 and offering to compensate them.
When Zakuro finds another target, Lynch wonders why they can't simply ignore the ones who look weak since they're obviously not Hisoka. Zakuro reminds her that they don't even know what kind of ability he has, and Lynch realizes that if he has the ability to alter his height, their entire plan is pointless. Zakuro points out the target in a crowded area, and it's revealed to be Hisoka with his hair let down and no makeup. After they follow him to an empty corridor, Lynch asks if he is Hisoka. He wonders who she is, and Lynch replies with her name before asking for his again and then appearing to punch him. However, Lynch suddenly falls to the floor as Zakuro watches in terror. Hisoka apologizes and says that his counter was simply a reflex, asking Zakuro what he wants. With sweat running down his face and his voice trembling, Zakuro realizes that he must be Hisoka given how overwhelming his aura is and how easily he subdued Lynch, asking him to confirm his identity. However, Hisoka calmly says that he's asking the questions now, and Zakuro nervously replies that while they weren't told the details, the Mafia is searching for him, asking him to come with them if he wants to know more. Hisoka puts on a menacing smirk and terrifies Zakuro even more.
Elsewhere on the ship, an old woman at a small kiosk tells Tsudonke that gunshots were apparently heard in Area E's plaza, describing the situation with soldiers, the Xi-Yu, and civilians. Giving money to her for an item, Tsudonke wonders if she has heard anything from the military, and the woman replies that there's most likely a gag order in place, worried about an all-out war starting. She adds that while the grunts on the lower tiers will talk for the right price, they won't have any information worth buying. Tsudonke then asks if she has any autograph paper, but the woman angrily replies that she only stocks items like tobacco, alcohol, and drugs that customers will buy for ten times the price, adding that he won't even find it in Tier 3's malls or the black market.
Tsudonke says to himself that he would pay 100 times the price and wonders if he should use regular paper, quickly saying that he has to use proper autograph paper. He adds that asking the Troupe to sign his shirt would show his passion, but reminds himself that he has the time to prepare before asking them. The woman then tells him that he could try a general store on Tier 1, revealing that they can have requested items delivered to the ship and that he will need to look for contacts since the service is limited to the upper classes. She explains that the deadline for placing an order on the last shipment by air is the fourteenth day of the voyage (and the deadline for a shipment via high-speed boat is three days before that). She adds that something as small as autograph paper could be delivered by drone, and the deadline could be extended depending on his connections and cash.
After thanking the old woman, Tsudonke regroups with the members of the Cha-R Family and tells himself that he needs to look out for a suspicious man over 190 cm (6'2"), saying that he has four days to find Hisoka so that he can ask for autograph paper as his reward. A Cha-R member tells Ken'i that someone clashed with the Xi-Yu in Area E's plaza, adding that Hinrigh was apparently involved. After saying that they will head there now, Ken'i addresses Tsudonke and his men, telling them to look for more information up to Area C if necessary and to report their findings to the Troupe back at the office. Once the four members leave, Ken'i worries about the Troupe staying back at the office, having hoped that they would split up once they started their search of Tier 4. He adds that they are smart enough to wait for the Heil-Ly hitman to arrive since he has already fulfilled the marking condition of his ability. He also praises their assessment of the three Mafia families and their realization that the key to finding Hisoka was using hitmen. He then wonders if it's better to leave the Troupe to the Heil-Ly and to focus on finding Hisoka.
Ken'i then remembers Ittoku's words about the Troupe planning to loot Tier 1 after they kill Hisoka, unsure of all the variables involved and advising him to eliminate them one at a time. After telling himself that Hisoka should be their first priority, he addresses several Cha-R members and says that the Xi-Yu will have an advantage if the civilian they encountered was Hisoka. He stresses that finding Hisoka is their top priority and that they will use him to crush both the Heil-Ly and the Troupe in order to maintain balance. He reminds them that they know nothing of the Heil-Ly besides their boss and orders them not to approach Hisoka until he arrives, adding that he was a Floor Master at Heavens Arena. He says that if he or Hinrigh successfully negotiates with him, they can simply sit back while the Troupe and Heil-Ly fight each other. Ken'i then says to himself that if Hisoka is capable of destroying the Troupe, it would be much easier to let them fight each other. However, he worries about Hisoka's unpredictable nature and mentions that based on the footage of his fights at Heavens Arena, he seems to prefer stacking the deck against himself.
In the Cha-R's office on Tier 5, Nobunaga and Phinks are seen sitting across from each other while Feitan reads a magazine in a nearby bunk bed. As a Cha-R member watches surveillance footage, Nobunaga suggests getting Franklin and splitting into teams of two to search outside in shifts. Phinks guesses that he would turn them down since he hates cramped places, but Nobunaga replies that he will team up with Franklin while the two of them stay there. Feitan says that even though the enemy will be reluctant to attack the three of them together, they shouldn't lose their patience. In the front room, several Cha-R members hear a knock on the door and wonder if the search team is back, but the member watching the surveillance footage tells Vic not to open it as he quickly asks the Troupe members to come to look at the monitors.
An arm is seen coming through an opening as the person knocks on the door. Phinks notes that he's toying with them when he could have taken them by surprise. The member points to another monitor and sees that the search team is returning. However, when they open the door to the front room, they find no one there, with Phinks guessing that they must have been taken. Nobunaga notes that it doesn't matter how many grunts are around if they can't use Nen. The member nervously wonders where his comrades are, but Nobunaga quickly orders him to stay in the other room and bolt the door, telling him to look for the search team on the monitors and let them know if anything happens. An opening suddenly appears on the front door, and Luini slowly reveals his face, telling the Troupe that they are acting so out of character since they should be betraying the Cha-R and using their door to the upper tiers so that they can kill all the rich scum. As Luini continues to voice his disappointment, both Phinks and Feitan react with utter disgust at his maniacal rambling, with the latter asking the extent of the Heil-Ly hitman's knowledge of their organization. Luini wonders if he should edit their wikipedia page since it currently says that they are diabolical thieves. Nobunaga quickly draws his katana and tells him to also add the line that they show no mercy to idiots that annoy them.
