Greed Island (グリードアイランド, Gurīdo Airando) is the 69th chapter of the Hunter × Hunter manga, written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.
Synopsis[]
Killua tells Gon that he can search for stores on the ToyLand website to order a JoyStation Console. He finds one with a memory card for same-day delivery, and Gon asks how they can find out what game it is since nothing is written on the memory card. Killua realizes that Gon has really never played video games before. The JoyStation arrives, and Killua says that it's still on the market after three generations because of the cult classic games. He shows Gon where to put the disc, but tells him to leave it empty, insert the memory card, and then turn on the console.

Gon and Killua viewing the memory card data
They see that there is only a single game, but it has used up all 30 slots of memory. Killua says that it might not work, but he decides to make a spare copy. After the screen shows the name of the game, Greed Island, Gon asks Killua if he knows what it is, but Killua replies that he hasn't heard of it. He says now that they know the title of the game, they can search for it on ToyLand. However, after the search brings up no results, Killua guesses that none appeared because they wanted same day delivery. He expands the search to all stores that sell it, but again they find that no one has it in stock, with Killua guessing that it's either sold out or was never on the market.
They use a website called "Game Almanac" to search for the game and learn that it was sold through legal channels. The site's information tells them that it's a hunting game exclusively for Hunters which was produced and sold by Marilyn Inc., having been released in 1987. They suddenly notice the outrageous price of 5.8 billion and can't believe it. After seeing that only 100 units were ever sold, Killua calls the company and learns that the game went out of print, with no plans for a re-release, and that its original developer no longer exists.
Killua sees that the game isn't even available on any used marketplaces, and Gon realizes that they will need to find someone with a copy. Killua says that they have to post a message on an auction site and wait for someone to reply. He adds that while they have 800 million combined, they will most likely need more than the retail price since sellers usually charge more. Gon decides to make a post anyway, asking for the game and telling any sellers to name their price. They get thousands of hits within seconds, and Killua guesses that they are trying to sell fakes since so much money is involved. He thinks that they will have to abandon the auction site idea, and Gon asks him if there is anyone who knows a lot about games and the Internet.

Killua calling Milluki about Greed Island
Someone comes to mind for Killua, and he says that the person may even own a copy of the game. He calls Gotoh and asks him to get "piggy" for him. He is confident that the person never leaves the house and has Gotoh tell the person that he will smash his figurines if he doesn't come to the phone in ten seconds. At the Zoldyck estate, an annoyed Milluki answers and says that he's busy, threatening to kill Killua if he touches his figurines. Killua assures his brother that he was kidding, and Gon wonders if Killua is talking to Illumi.
Milluki says that he has heard of Greed Island and adds that he didn't expect Killua to be interested in rare video games. He tells Killua that he doesn't own a copy but wants one, saying that it went on sale when he was five years old. He also mentions that there were 20,000 preorders for the 100 copies and says that he was unable to track down any of the buyers. After Killua taunts him about giving up on his search, Milluki assures him that he has some leads now, but says that it isn't worth it given the amount of effort and money it would take.
Killua asks his brother if he will exchange his information for a memory card with Greed Island save files, confident that Milluki could reverse engineer the game using the data. Milluki makes sure that Killua's claim is genuine and at first worries about eavesdroppers, but then tells him that it's best to start with the Hunters' Website. He says that while he could hack into the site himself, he's worried about the Net Police and Hacker Hunters tracking him. He tells Killua that he will need a Hunter License to gain access, promising to give him the URL once he gets the memory card.

Gon eager to learn more about Greed Island
Milluki's second lead involves the Yorknew auction, and he tells his brother that dozens of copies will reportedly be auctioned off. He guesses that someone had been hoarding the copies, and Killua quickly ends the conversation, telling his brother that he will send the memory card using their usual way. Killua apologizes to Gon for promising to give Milluki the memory card, but Gon is fine with the exchange. He goes to use his license on his computer, but Killua quickly warns him that if his IP address got out, people would come to Whale Island looking for the license. He tells Gon that they have to use public computers and reminds him that they still need the URL. He also tells Gon about someone auctioning off numerous copies of the game, and Gon thinks that it could be Ging. Holding the memory card in his hand, Gon realizes that they still need a lot more money to get a copy and wonders what kind of game Greed Island could be if it's worth billions.
Sitting in front of multiple computers and monitors, Milluki learns that in 1988, a man named Battera offered 17 billion to buy the game and
50 billion for a memory card with endgame data, but no one came forward. Milluki then smiles and says that he will bring the legend to an end.
