Synopsis[]

Gon accessing the Hunters' Website

Gon accessing the Hunters' Website

After a hawk carrying the Hunters' Website URL from Milluki lands on Killua's arm, he and Gon head to an Internet café where they see the Hunters' Tavern screen after putting in the URL. Gon enters his license number and then swipes his license to gain access. He moves the cursor to the bartender and checks under games, eventually finding Greed Island on the list. The bartender asks for Jenny Symbol 201120 million for the requested information, and after the two pay him, he first tells them that Nen users made the game.

The bartender then gives them a plethora of information: the multiple creators (unknown if they are Specialists) infused all 100 copies with Nen, which activates when the game is started. After players are sucked into the game and disappear, the console will stay on if they stay alive and stop if they die. They are able to return to the real world if they find a save point. One of the game's owners gave information as long as his identity was kept hidden, saying that he hired 50 Hunters (three of whom were licensed professionals) to clear the game, but none of them returned.

Gon wonders if the information is true, and Killua says that it has to be since it's on the Hunters' Website. As Gon clicks further, the two learn that seven copies have currently been registered for the Yorknew auction, with the minimum bid set at Jenny Symbol 20118.9 billion. Killua can't believe how much higher the price is, but Gon wonders if they can take part by also selling. Killua agrees that they can find their own loot to auction and hopes that they can make enough with their Jenny Symbol 2011800 million to afford a copy of the game.

The two lastly learn that while the game is considered legendary for the general public, the difficulty of finding one is ranked "H" (easiest) since it has started to show up on public auctions. It's added that the acquisition difficulty is ranked "G" (easy) because of the high cost, with the game not classified as rare because of the current number of professional Hunters (there are enough for one out of six to own a copy).

Gon tells himself that acquiring a copy is his only hope of finding Ging. Killua sits down at the computer next to him and says that they should use the Internet flea markets and open auction sites first. The two buy and sell into the night, eventually making their way to a fountain in a crowded plaza. They are left with Jenny Symbol 201110.84 million between themselves and argue over the deals they made, with Killua angrily saying that it took 8 hours to make only Jenny Symbol 2011985 and asking how long it will take to make Jenny Symbol 20118 billion. Still at each other's throat, they decide to split the remaining money and see who has more by 9 p.m. on August 31. After agreeing that the loser will do one thing the winner asks, the two run off in opposite directions.

At the Nostrade's Mansion, the four applicants return with a requested item: Kurapika with a lock of celebrity hair, Basho with a mummified right arm from an Egypersian tomb, Melody with skin from a patient with dracoderma, and Baise with a unicorn tribesman skull. Dalzollene, the head bodyguard, tells them that they are all hired and says that their first job will be guarding the boss on her way to Yorknew. He adds that they will deliver her safely to her hotel room and specifies that they will make a 35-hour trip by private blimp to Lingon Airport, with a 90-minute drive to the hotel. He finally tells the new recruits that they will be part of the outer formation and asks them if they have any questions.

Kurapika bluntly asks if they know who is after the boss, but Dalzollene says that it's a stupid question because there are too many to count given the boss' position in the underside of society. Kurapika then asks if they know of any that might act upon their resentment toward the boss, which would allow them to create better countermeasures. Dalzollene becomes serious and tells him to assume that everyone who approaches the boss is an enemy. He then tells the new recruits that he will introduce them to her, leading them down a grand hallway where they spot a man petrified inside a large picture frame. Dalzollene tells them that it used to be human and a former colleague before he let himself be misled and put the team and the boss in danger. He tells the four recruits that they were hired in his place. After they reach the boss' room, Dalzollene knocks and tells her that he has new hires. She tells them to come in, and they find a young girl sitting on her bed. It's stated that the day of the auction has arrived.
