Plot[]

Altar of Dragon Vein[]

Note: Events occurring in Altar of Dragon Vein do not constitute canon material. Furthermore, some events may slightly differ depending on the current player character.

After Hanzo and Satotz confirm the ruins' location, the Hunter group travels to the cavern and soon finds an underground pond. There, monstrous giant frogs jump out to attack. Defeating them, the group heads for the ruins. They then find the second ring needed for the Forest Ruins. To prevent Zegin from achieving his goal, the group takes the ring and returns to Netero's airship. They then have Romaria examine the ring, who comments on not recognizing the design from any prior civilizations.[1]

At Netero's request, the group returns there once again to find Zegin and his comrades. At the ruins, Amane waits for them. He then rings his bell to control one of them. He then reveals that Zegin is heading for Netero's airship to obtain the second ring. At this, Kurapika comments that he himself is after Amane for his Scarlet Eye necklace and revenge for his prior mind control. He then activates Emperor Time and fights him.[1]

After Kurapika manages to wound Amane, Sabaki appears and stops the fight. Sabaki then demands Amane give the necklace to Kurapika, and reveals the Scarlet Eye to be fake. He then proceeds to knock Amane unconscious. He comments on their strained relationship, and Amane to be liability. He also informs the Hunter group that Zegin had murdered his own father during the Hunter Exam. Thus, he aims to kill Zegin before anyone else can. He also claims that, even if this hadn't happened, he would still despise hunters. At this, Sabaki leaves the group be and exits the ruins, commenting that they're next.[1]
