Dog (イヌ, Inu) was a dog-like Chimera Ant Officer that was created from being attacked with Zazan's Queen Shot. He was labeled one of the "Chosen Ones" and swore loyalty to her. Before his transformation, he was a human and resident of Meteor City.[1]

Appearance[]

Dog was a Chimera Ant with the appearance of an emaciated and bony canine.

Personality[]

Not much is known about Dog's personality as a human, but when he was first brought to Zazan, he was strong-willed and demanded that he be killed. Zazan commented on his liveliness before using Queen Shot to turn him into a Chimera Ant. After Zazan's death, he is seen crying while begging to be killed. When Phinks refuses and tells the Ant to come at him, Dog smirks before launching himself at the Spider.[2] In the 2011 anime adaptation, he frowns before attacking.[3]

Dog swearing loyalty to Zazan

Dog first encountered Zazan as a human when he was captured and brought to the self-proclaimed Queen by two of her Peons. He continuously demanded that she kill him, but Zazan deemed him lively and full of promise and used her Queen Shot ability to turn him into a Chimera Ant. Her stinger pierces his neck, and after undergoing a gruesome transformation, a Drudge welcomes him as one of the "Chosen Ones" and tells him to swear loyalty to the Queen. He obeys, kissing the end of Zazan's foot.[1]

Phinks vs

Dog launching himself at Phinks

After Zazan's death, Dog approaches the Phantom Troupe (Phinks, Bonolenov, Shizuku, Feitan, Shalnark, and Kalluto). He appears to have difficulty speaking, but can finally pleads to be killed with tears streaming down his face. After his request, other Chimera Ants in the area also approach the Troupe to beg. Phinks refuses and says he doesn't kill for charity. He winds up his arm, telling the Ants to come at him. He angrily adds that they should show what spirit they have left as residents of Meteor City. Dog is no longer crying and smirks at Phinks' words before launching himself at the Spider. In the next scene, Phinks is seen walking with the other Spiders, and Dog was killed along with the other Ants that desired death.[2]

Abilities & Powers[]

Dog, like all Chimera Ants, is stronger than normal humans. However, he was killed with one punch against an experienced Nen user, Phinks.[2]
