Meanwhile, Welfin and Bloster grow suspicious of Ikalgo after he mentions the name "Hagya", as he head beneath the palace in search of Palm.
Ikalgo using Flutter's ability
Upon reaching the underground hallway via elevator, Ikalgo, disguised as Flutter, utilizes the Dragonfly Satellite to survey the area ahead. Despite his limited knowledge of her, his determination to rescue Palm is resolute, formed solely from the information he received. Ikalgo regards Palm as a friend through his connection with Killua and holds a deep respect for her bravery in undertaking the mission alone, fully aware of the risks. He further clarifies that his actions are not born out of duty but stem from a personal choice, driven by his own sense of conviction.
The underground elevator Ikalgo previously accessed is outfitted with advanced security features, including a camera and an integrated scale. It verifies that the cabin is empty before automatically returning to the surface. While several individuals may descend together, only one person can ascend at a time, requiring a unique eight-digit passcode assigned to each user. The elevator logs precise biometric data, such as weight and height, and activates only when the correct code is entered. If the inputted code is incorrect thrice or the user's physical attributes fail to align with the recorded data, the elevator seals shut, releasing a potent sleeping gas to incapacitate the intruder. Once neutralized, the violator faces capture, torture, and eventual execution within the confined space. Full, unrestricted access to the elevator is granted exclusively to Bizeff and Marcos, ensuring no one else can operate it freely.
Bloster steps into the elevator and descends without issue. Observing intently from the shadows, Welfin waits for his opportunity. Once the elevator returns, he enters, only to be immediately struck by a pungent, unsettling odor hanging in the air. The stench immediately reminds him of Flutter, as if he resides in a morgue. Welfin also catches traces of Bloster's scent, lingering from his recent elevator use. Welfin also picks up an unfamiliar scent, one he cannot identify, triggering his suspicion.
Welfin speculates that Bloster is tracking Flutter, whose demeanor grew suspicious when Ikalgo mentioned the name "Hagya". As Welfin reaches for the elevator button, he abruptly halts, slipping into deep thought. Doubt tightens its grip on his mind, and he entertains the unsettling notion that Bloster might be colluding with Flutter. Reconstructing the sequence of events, particularly Killua's unexpected arrival. Welfin contemplates the possibility of a coordinated scheme between Bloster and Flutter. Killua's actions only deepen his unease, leading Welfin to suspect that Bloster might be observing him from the shadows. If Bloster had indeed been aligned with the intruder, he would have likely noticed Welfin's suspicions about Flutter. This realization sharpens Welfin's focus. He surmises that Bloster entered the elevator first, setting the stage for an ambush designed to catch Welfin off guard.
As his suspicions intensify, Welfin hesitates to press the elevator button for the descent underground. An intriguing thought occurs to him: if he can definitively prove that Flutter is the perpetrator behind the bomb threat to Bizeff, it could shift the balance of power in his favor. However, the mere mention of Bizeff heightens Welfin's anxiety, and he begins to question the man's whereabouts. He delves deeper into his thoughts, considering the catastrophic implications should Bizeff have perished in the attack; such a loss would utterly dismantle his plans. With this sobering realization, Welfin decisively abandons his pursuit of Ikalgo, redirecting his focus to locating Bizeff first.
As Gon and Killua pursue Pitou, they encounter Zeno, who notices the subtle change in Killua. He informs them that his mission is complete, noting that he possesses no information beyond the scope of his assignment, particularly concerning Komugi's fate following Zeno's Dragon Dive. Before departing, Zeno advises the two to draw their own conclusions about the unfolding events within. With that, he vanishes into thin air. Gon adopts a serious demeanor, slowly advancing toward Pitou's location while Killua follows closely behind.
Meanwhile, Knuckle confronts Youpi, with Shoot and Meleoron observing from a distance. Youpi recognizes Knuckle as the owner of Hakoware, noting the rising number on its display as he repeatedly assaults it. To his astonishment, none of his strikes have any effect. Amused by Youpi's mounting frustration, Knuckle makes his move. Irritated, Youpi shifts his focus and launches a barrage of attacks at Knuckle, demanding to know the secrets behind Hakoware. Knuckle, however, declines to divulge any information, asserting that Youpi must catch him first, his tone laced with derision.
Seething with rage, Youpi charges at Knuckle, who deftly evades. In his wake, Youpi unleashes an attack that generates a cloud of dust, leaving significant damage in the struck area. Meleoron, utilizing his Perfect Plan Nen ability, observes the destruction wrought by Youpi's strike. To avoid being ensnared in the chaos, he prudently decides to distance himself from both Knuckle and Youpi, walking away at a deliberate pace to conserve his oxygen.
Meanwhile, Shoot, precariously perched on one of his Disembodied Hands, suffers severe injuries and loses his footing, falling to the ground. Desperately struggling to maintain consciousness, he fights to keep Hotel Rafflesia intact, knowing that every ounce of damage they can inflict is essential for neutralizing Youpi.
Despite being battered, Shoot motivates himself that he can still fight, slowly crawling toward the fray. Meleoron, still employing his "Perfect Plan" ability, is moved to tears by Shoot's resolve. He yearns to encourage Shoot to persevere but ultimately restrains himself, understanding that he must prioritize the mission's success and assist others to complete their tasks efficiently.
Determined, Meleoron begins to search for his allies. He temporarily deactivates his Perfect Plan to catch his breath before immediately reactivating it. As he scans the area, he spots Morel's Smoky Jail remains within the throne room, confirming that Morel is engaged in battle with Pouf. Urged by a sense of urgency, he sets out to locate Gon and Killua, but suddenly finds his path obstructed by Welfin, prompting an immediate surge of alertness within Meleoron due to Welfin's unpredictable nature.
Meleoron implies that Welfin is the most skeptical of all the Squadron Leaders; if he harbors suspicions about someone, he won't trust them until they die. Welfin seems to catch a scent, intently sniffing the ground, while Meleoron, already winded, grapples with the dilemma of fleeing or waiting for Welfin to depart. As Welfin tracks the scent, he closes in on Meleoron, who, now at his breaking point, cautiously retreats a little farther away.
Meleoron deactivates his Perfect Plan momentarily, but promptly reactivates it to catch his breath. This movement draws Welfin's attention, as he senses Meleoron's presence. Welfin then activates his Nen ability, Missileman. Although Meleoron remains concealed, Welfin warns Meleoron, demanding he reveal himself. by the time he counts to three; otherwise, he will initiate an attack. As Welfin completes his count, he launches missiles toward Meleoron's location. However, Meleoron narrowly escapes before the missiles can reach him, leaving Welfin questioning whether he is merely imagining things. Had Meleoron remained hidden, Welfin's assault might have succeeded, triggering the full extent of his Nen ability.
Welfin's missiles vanish, prompting him to question the effectiveness of his Nen ability. He contemplates his ambition to become the King behind the scenes, realizing that if he were to attain that position, he would inevitably have far too many reasons to be suspicious of those around him. Welfin lingers in the vicinity, initially dismissing the presence of Meleoron as a mere figment of his imagination. However, he soon detects a subtle shift in the atmosphere and begins to sniff the ground, identifying the faint scent of an odorless deodorant. This revelation convinces him that someone is nearby; deodorant's use suggests an acute awareness of Welfin's heightened sense of smell. He grows increasingly convinced that traitors are lurking among them.
In addition to Flutter, he reflects on other potential traitors, recognizing that they must be deliberately masking their scent. This line of thought prompts Welfin to delve deeper into contemplation about the traitor's identity. His introspection compels him to question his own objectives and the very nature of his loyalty.
Gon's reaction to Neferpitou
Gon and Killua finally track down Pitou, who is deeply focused on the task of healing Komugi. As Pitou turns to face Gon, he becomes acutely aware of the ominous aura emanating from him.
