Hisoka × Crash × Gon (ヒソカ×激突×ゴン, Hisoka × Gekitotsu × Gon) is the 23rd episode of the original Hunter × Hunter anime. It first aired on April 1st, 2000.

Overview[]

Leorio and Kurapika refuse to hand over their badges to Hisoka, Hisoka's bloodlust boils over giving Gon the opportunity to steal his badge. Successful in stealing Hisoka's badge, Gon gets attacked by Geretta out of nowhere and steals his badges. Hisoka kills Geretta and returns Gon's badges. Unwilling to accept the badges nor wanting to be indebted to him, Hisoka declines Gon's demand and punches him in his face, telling him that he will gladly take his badge back if he can punch him in return with the same power.

Synopsis[]

After Hisoka surveys the area, he starts sprinting through the woods. Gon continues to shadow Hisoka, deducing that Hisoka has found a target and it'll be a chance to steal his badge. He doesn't realize that he himself is also being shadowed by Geretta. When Gon catches up with Hisoka, he discovers that he was targeting Kurapika and Leorio.

Hisoka needs two more points and then demands to have Kurapika and Leorio their badges; Kurapika analyses Hisoka's demand and comes up with a conclusion that Hisoka needs only two points, therefore, he and Leorio might not be his targets; Hisoka ignores Kurapika and threatens them instead. Gon, while hidden, watches his friends being confronted by Hisoka, and he immediately thinks of changing his plans to help his two friends. Once more, Hisoka orders them to hand over their badges. Kurapika did not give a direct response, depending on the conditions related to the badges they had. Kurapika then dissects the situations of the badges they own, Leorio's badge was the target of Tonpa, and Kurapika's target was Tonpa's badge; these 2 badges are currently in their possession. Neither of them is Hisoka's target. As Hisoka approaches them, Kurapika offers the other badge they own, which is only worth a point for them. Then informs Hisoka if he wants to use force, Kurapika is ready to defend and fight Hisoka. Both Leorio and Kurapika draw their weapons. Hisoka asks for Kurapika's badge number; upon knowing that he is not Hisoka's target Kurapika then offers the badge that's worth a single point then both of them silently retreat away from Hisoka.

Gon, who closely watches the scene fold, decides to take his opportunity on Hisoka's next target. However, he realizes it will be the same if the next target won't fight and willingly surrenders the badge to Hisoka. After a while, Gon felt frightened to the sudden change atmosphere of his surroundings. It was Hisoka's bloodlust; the changing of his demeanor was the result of his encounter with Kurapika and Leorio. As Hisoka proceeds to hunt for a target, Gon is convinced that the next target will likely be killed and this is the perfect opportunity to steal his badge.

Gon surveys the area, spots Hisoka's next target, and then prepares for the upcoming events. As he waits, he sees Hisoka running toward his target; as Hisoka is about to land a blow on his target, Gon launches the hook from his fishing rod directly to Hisoka's badge and successfully steals it. After Hisoka kills his target, he checks the area and sees Gon holding his badge; in fear, Gon runs away, escaping from Hisoka. In disbelief, Gon is happy that he manages to steal Hisoka's badge. Then out of nowhere, Gon was attacked and got stung by a dart from Geretta's blowgun resulting in his whole body being paralyzed. After confronting Gon, Geretta takes both of his badges and walks away, shortly after getting killed.

After a while, Gon sees Hisoka's approaching him. Hisoka praises Gon's plan and ability; he then reveals that Geretta is his target after returning Gon's badge and his badge to Gon. Gon refuses to accept, but Hisoka rejects and insists and then tells him that Gon owes him as Hisoka walks away, Gon forces himself to stand up and confronts Hisoka and angrily tells him that he doesn't want him to return the badges or owes anything from him. Hisoka denies Gon again and then proceeds to let him know that he wants Gon to be alive and that he owes him until he gets stronger and worthy of being an opponent; Hisoka then punches Gon, sending him flying, Hisoka then added that if Gon is capable of punching him back with the same force, he will be happy to get his badge back from him.
