Heart Tone × Kurapika × Dowsing (心音×クラピカ×ダウジング, Shinon × Kurapika × Daujingu) is the 49th episode of the original Hunter × Hunter anime. It first aired on December 9th, 2000.
Overview[]
Killua finds a JoyStation Console, and the card contains data for a game called Greed Island that can't be found on the Internet. Killua calls his brother, who doesn't have it, but provides information in exchange for the data on the card. Kurapika manages to identify two spies: Shachmono Tocino and Squala, who work for the boss and are asked to test the applicants.
Synopsis[]

The Hunters at the mansion fight off the assailants, and Basho and Kurapika quickly figure out what is going on. Kurapika holds a knife to Shachmono's neck, insisting that he call the assailants off. Shachmono immediately complies, and the figures fade away until only their robes and weapons are left lying on the floor. Basho says he could tell they were made of Nen as soon as he punched one, but didn't know who was controlling them. Kurapika explains that Shachmono was the only one not getting attacked and that he also noticed how simple the movements of the figures were. Shachmono tells them they are correct and goes to sit down.

Kurapika uses his dowsing chain
Shachmono tells the Hunters that the four of them should be able to make it out of the room easily. However, there are five other people in the room besides Shachmono himself. Kurapika uses his Dowsing Chain to identify the other infiltrator, and it moves when he directs it at Squala. Squala immediately denies the accusation, and Melody chimes in to back Kurapika up, using Squala's heartbeat pattern as further evidence. Squala tries to turn the suspicion around on Kurapika and Melody since they are the only two who seem to know each other when they arrive.
Basho demonstrates his own Nen ability by writing a haiku that makes whatever he hits burst into flames. He then attacks the monitor behind them, and it catches fire. After showcasing his ability works, he writes a haiku that will kill whoever lies to him and asks each of the others if they are the infiltrator. Kurapika, Melody, and Baise all say they are not the infiltrator, and Shachmono admits that he is. When it is Squala's turn to answer, he hesitates for a while before finally giving in and admitting to being the other infiltrator.

Baise kisses Squala
Squala explains that he isn't a Hunter, but a Manipulator, and suspiciously mentions having given out orders to someone or something. He refuses to tell them anymore, but Baise kisses him on the mouth and uses her own Manipulation ability to get him to tell them the truth. While Squala is under Baise's control and madly in love with her, he confesses to having given orders to the dogs all around the estate, but calls them off at Baise's command. The others in the room stare, stunned at Baise's ability, and Kurapika remarks to himself that he is thankful he didn't let Baise kiss him earlier.

Gon and Killua stare in disbelief at the price of Greed Island
On Whale Island, Gon and Killua receive their Joystation in the mail. Without a game to actually play on the console, they insert their memory card to see what games the card was used for and find only one game, called Greed Island. They use Gon's computer again to search for the game, hoping to order it online, but they can't find any listings for it. Killua searches a game database, and they find that Greed Island is not only incredibly rare and incredibly expensive but also very limited. Even though they have no idea how they'd be able to pay for the game, they decide to post an ad online for it to see if anyone will sell it to them. The boys immediately receive thousands of offers, which Killua identifies are probably scammers.

Gon and Killua deciding to head to Yorknew City
With few other options, Killua hesitantly mentions that he may know someone who might have the game, but doesn't really want to call them. Still, he phones his house and gets Gotoh to put Milluki on the line. When Killua asks him about the game, Milluki admits that he had always wanted to get his hands on it, but was never able to, even when the game first came out. Killua offers to trade any leads Milluki has on the game for the memory card they have. Milluki agrees and tells Killua about a collector planning to sell copies of the game at the Yorknew City auction, as well as a Hunter's website, which he promises to give Killua the URL for when he receives the memory card. Killua agrees and hangs up. The boys plan to head to Yorknew City to try and get enough money to buy the game.
On Kukuroo Mountain, Milluki sits in his room, searching for more information on Greed Island.
