Spider Rendezvous × Zoldyck Family × Final Battle (クモ集結×ゾル家×最終決戦の時, Kumo Shūketsu × Zoru ke × Saishū Kessen no Toki) is the 61st episode of the original Hunter × Hunter anime. It first aired on March 17th, 2001.
Overview[]
Some of the hired assassins battle Chrollo, but lose. Gon and Killua try to contact Kurapika. The Phantom Troupe advances, easily beating the Mafia forces. Kurapika sees Neon's picture on the Hunter Website and reports it to Light Nostrade, who also arrives at the auction to find his daughter. Silva and Zeno find Chrollo.
Synopsis[]
Chrollo argues with the security guards who come to check on Neon to ensure that she gets a room to lie down in, faking concern for her. He informs the guards of who Neon is, and they rush to get her a safe place to recover. One of the assassins hired by the Ten Dons watches this happen on the security cameras, and after watching the footage back, can catch sight of the moment Chrollo struck Neon to knock her out. The assassin leaves the security room, determined to go after Chrollo.

Light and Kurapika arrive and are informed of the room Neon is in. They run to get there, but Kurapika excuses himself on their way up to go use a computer to check the Hunter Website. He finds a photo of Neon posted there and tells Light about it once they both get to her room. Light asks for Kurapika's opinion on what they should do, and Kurapika informs Light that he has already contacted the other bodyguards and recommends that Light and his daughter leave with them once they arrive; he is certain that the Cemetery Building will become a battlefield and the auction will be canceled once again.
The assassin throws a knife at Chrollo
The assassin tailing Chrollo follows him to a room, throwing a knife at Chrollo. Chrollo challenges the assassin one-on-one, and Chrollo uses his Indoor Fish ability, which slowly eats away at the assassin, who is horrified at what is happening to him. Eventually, Chrollo opens up the windows in the room, and the fish disappear, killing the assassin. Elsewhere in the city, Feitan and Phinks get a message from Chrollo to "unleash hell" on the Cemetery Building. They, along with all the other Spiders who presumably received the same message, kill everyone around them. A car containing some of the Spiders gets gunned down by members of the Mafia Community. The car explodes, and the Mafia Community members are certain the Spiders are dead, but Franklin quickly emerges from the car to attack them, and Shizuku appears to help him. Feitan, Phinks, Shalnark, Pakunoda, and Machi also take out many of the Mafia Community members on their way to Cemetery Building.

Chrollo, still in the room where he killed the assassin, looks out over the city and dedicates the Spiders' chaos to Uvogin. While alone, he pretends to be a conductor, moving his hands as though he is conducting the Spiders' actions throughout the city like an orchestra.
Gon tries to call Kurapika on his cell, but the line is busy. After failing to reach Kurapika all night, Gon calls Leorio and plans to meet. Kurapika speaks to Melody and Basho on the phone, who are outside in the city. Kurapika warns them to focus on protecting Neon and to not engage with the Spiders no matter what. An ambulance arrives outside the Cemetery Building for Neon. Still, the doctor and staff are held at gunpoint by Mafia Community members, who warn them before escorting them inside. Kurapika watches the other high-ranking Mafia Community members inside the building start panicking about the attack on the city.
Kurapika steps away and gets a phone call. He answers it and speaks with Gon, who tells him about how he and Killua got caught by the Phantom Troupe. Kurapika is immediately furious at Gon for going near the Spiders, and Killua decides to talk to Kurapika instead. Killua asks for Kurapika's assistance with taking on the Spiders and tries to use the information they could get from being at their hideout to barter with him. Still, Kurapika is adamant about not helping them and getting the information elsewhere. Killua upset that Kurapika doesn't consider them his friends or equals, still insists on helping each other. Gon and Leorio try to reason with Kurapika, but Kurapika hangs up.
Kurapika turns off his phone so that the other boys can't call him anymore. The glass wall he is standing in front of on the ground floor of the Cemetery Building shatters as an explosion goes off. A member of the Mafia Community being controlled by Shalnark approaches Kurapika and the other people inside and tries to gun them down. Still, Kurapika manages to get out of harm's way.
The Zoldycks face off against Chrollo Lucilfer
The high-ranking members of the Mafia Community argue with each other, trying to get their weapons back from the staff as they are becoming doubtful of the assassins that were hired to kill the Spiders. Silva and Zeno show up, and Silva punches a hole in the wall to silence the room. The Mafia Community members go silent, and Zeno introduces himself and tells them that their weapons will do nothing against the Phantom Troupe. Silva and Zeno go off to search the building, with Zeno using his incredible En radius to scan the area. They can locate Chrollo, and Silva warns his father about Chrollo's ability to steal the abilities of others.
