Synopsis[]

Chrollo waiting HXH 99 EP77

Chrollo waits by himself

Chrollo sits alone in an abandoned building with a stolen JoyStation Console running beside him. Hisoka shows up, and Chrollo smiles.

Killua and Gon run through a forest, making their way to Masadora, with Biscuit following not far behind them. The boys hope to lose Biscuit when they run into the bandits or monsters they expect, assuming she'll just run away if things get difficult. The boys are surprised that she's actually able to keep up with them while they're running, and Biscuit thinks to herself that the boys have decent stamina as well, if only because of their young age.

Sick villagers EP77 99 2

Bandits come out from the trees

All three of them come to a stop when bandits come out from behind the trees to block their path. Gon and Killua ready themselves to fight, but the bandits immediately start begging for their help instead. Gon, Killua, and Biscuit are brought to a cabin housing a sick child in a village, where they are told of the constant illness the sick villagers have been afflicted with. Needing expensive medicine to cure themselves and their dying child, they beg Gon and Killua for money. Killua assumes that the NPCs will likely reward them if they help them out, so Gon asks how much it would cost them. A villager tells them it'll be Jenny Symbol 201180,000, which is almost all the money Gon and Killua have left. Biscuit offers to help pay, but Killua tells her to be quiet, and Gon hands the bandits over Jenny Symbol 201180,000. However, without being able to get the medicine until the following day, the villagers worry their child will die overnight from the cold, so Gon and Killua begrudgingly offer up their clothes for the child.

Killua becomes quite annoyed when, even after giving up their clothes, the villagers still offer the boys nothing in return. Gon and Killua leave the village in just their undershirts and shorts, unhappy. However, the two continue their journey, still excited by the potential monster-fighting they might get to do. After clearing the mountain forest area, the boys reach the badlands, which they jump into.

Cyclops

Gon and Killua get surrounded by cyclopes

Once in the depths of the badlands, they are surrounded by cyclopes who start attacking them. Gon and Killua can dodge their attacks, but just barely. Gon can land a punch on a Cyclops, but it barely does anything. After dodging an attack, Killua can run up one of the Cyclops' arms and strike them in the eye, which instantly defeats the Cyclops and leaves behind a Giant Cyclops card that Killua obtains.

Gon and Killua can clear out the rest of the cyclopes together. Biscuit watches over them from above, assessing their fighting capabilities. The boys prepare to continue heading to Masadora, but a giant lizard appears before them. Gon and Killua scream, run away and hide until the lizard leaves. After it is gone, the boys come out of hiding and continue on their way, with Killua estimating that a beast that strong must be Rank A. Biscuit defeats the lizard easily on her own, and the card she receives classifies it as only Rank E.

The Phantom Troupe members in Greed Island gather at the Shiso Tree, and Shalnark informs the others of what he has learned about the game possibly not being a virtual world at all.

Along their way through the badlands, Gon and Killua encounter an Hyper Puffball, who, upon seeing them, throws its whole body forward to hit Gon in the face. It bounces off the canyon walls rapidly, too fast for Killua or Gon to catch it, continuing to strike the two as it goes. Biscuit gets annoyed watching them struggle from afar and disappointed when, after ten minutes, the boys make no progress, and the Hyper Puffball bounces away from them and leaves. Soon after, the boys come across a Bubble Horse, which they find to be very stupid-looking. The horse blows a bunch of bubbles and fans them towards the boys. The white bubbles explode upon impact with them. When the boys look again, the horse is gone. Biscuit notices that the white bubbles are likely Nen-activated, as they don't explode when they hit boulders, and the red bubbles burst when the person is in a Zetsu state, as they tend to burst when touching inanimate objects. The boys notice none of this and continue on their way with the horse gone.

Another Melanin Lizard chases after Gon and Killua, and they once again choose to run away. They encounter a few other unnamed monsters on their way through the badlands, but they also do not defeat them. Biscuit gets extremely frustrated watching Gon and Killua get beaten up and run away repeatedly, as she sees a lot of potential in them that they aren't doing anything with. She also worried they'll die as soon as a difficult monster or player appears. When faced with a monster in a suit of armor, Biscuit gives up staying silent any longer and shouts out to the boys to use Gyo. Gon notices how different Biscuit's personality seems compared to before. Using Gyo, the boys can see that the armor was just a decoy for the monster hiding elsewhere. Gon finds the Radio Rat controlling the armor, and it turns into a card as soon as it is spotted.

Biscuit HXH 99 EP77 001

Biscuit tests Gon and Killua

Biscuit confronts the boys about why they haven't been using Gyo this whole time if they've known how to use it all along. The boys struggle to answer her, having forgotten about the ability. She yells at the boys to use Gyo again and tests them on what number she creates with her Nen. She says that she'll continue testing them, but the boys should always use Gyo if they notice something strange. Biscuit appoints herself as their coach, to which Killua initially protests. Biscuit holds up her finger while he is talking, and Gon quickly answers what number she has created, but Killua does not, and she punishes him with two hundred push-ups.

Binolt fullshot HXH 99 EP77

Binolt stalks Gon, Killua, and Biscuit

Instead of doing the push-ups, Killua yells at her, and Biscuit punches a hole into the cliff beside her, silencing the boys. When she tells them she has been a Pro Hunter before they were even born, they inquire about her age. Upon learning that she is actually fifty-seven years old, Killua starts bad-mouthing her, and Biscuit punches him so hard that he goes flying. She finally introduces herself to Gon and Killua, telling them to call her Bisky. Killua is still completely against her teaching them, as they don't know her at all, and Gon agrees since they already have Wing as their teacher. Upon hearing the mention of Wing's name, Biscuit informs them that she is Wing's teacher and has the right to teach them as well. After still not completely winning them over, Biscuit summons her book and shows them cards of the monsters they couldn't defeat earlier and how low rank they were. She claims that many strong players in the game currently can defeat these monsters and will easily kill Gon and Killua as well. From a distance, Binolt watches the three of them with the desire to kill them.
