September 4th: Part 11 (9
Synopsis[]
As Pakunoda holds Squala at gunpoint and restrains his hands, Nobunaga warns that he will kill him if he even moves. Pakunoda then says that she will ask him some questions and tells him to answer truthfully. It's stated that Squala is a Manipulator whose ability involves him taking care of his dogs in exchange for their services (such as protection, running errands, and spy missions). It's added that they can have complex conversations using their barks like Morse code.
Pakunoda says that one of his colleagues uses chains and asks where he is. Squala is left confused and asks who they are, but when he tries to add that Nostrade is his boss, Pakunoda breaks his right arm and tells him to answer the question or she will break his left as well. Nobunaga reminds him that he warned him not to move and that he just needs to answer her questions. Pakunoda then asks what they did with Uvogin, reminding him that it was the large man they kidnapped.
Nobunaga killing Squala
As sweat drips down his face, an upset Squala answers that he last saw Uvogin before he escaped. Pakunoda asks where his other colleagues are, and Squala says that they have already left, adding that he was also heading home. Pakunoda tells him that he shouldn't lie, but Squala angrily replies that it's the truth and asks her why he would. Pakunoda again asks about the man with chains, but Squala stresses that he doesn't know anyone with that description. Pakunoda finally asks if he loves anyone, and Squala defiantly answers that he wouldn't be working with the Mafia if he did. However, Pakunoda smirks and asks if her name is Eliza, calling her pretty as Squala is left stunned. But before Squala can finish warning the Phantom Troupe members not to harm Eliza, Nobunaga decapitates him with his katana and says that he told him twice not to move.
Nobunaga asks if she got the information, which Pakunoda confirms as the bystanders in their cars begin to panic after seeing Squala's death. She says that it will take too long to tell him about it and that she will just shoot Squala's memories into them, revealing her Memory Bomb ability. She asks if he's scared, but Nobunaga calmly tells her to do it and notes that they are old friends. After Pakunoda shoots both Nobunaga and Kortopi in the head, two bystanders are left stunned that the criminals are now shooting each other.
Nobunaga swearing to remember Kurapika's name and face until he kills him
Kurapika's appearance and voice suddenly enter Nobunaga's mind, and he vows to remember his name and face until he kills him. More bystanders are shocked to see that the two people are still alive even after being shot, wondering if it was a movie stunt. As the three Troupe members flee the scene, Pakunoda calls Chrollo and tells him that while Squala didn't know anything about Uvogin or the chain user's ability, they now know his name and appearance. After Chrollo tells her that they will be waiting in the lobby of the Hotel Beitacle, he informs Machi and Shizuku of the new development.
A frustrated Gon says to himself that while he told Kurapika about carrying out the plan in a hotel lobby, they didn't decide on the time and he doesn't know where they're going. As Gon tries to figure out a way to let Kurapika know, Killua says to himself that Melody would have heard Chrollo's phone call, and Kurapika would know where they're going. He thinks that he has the perfect plan to blind the Troupe, but worries about the others figuring it out and not knowing when to execute it. He stresses that they need to be in complete synchronization and that he needs to find a way to communicate a time to them.
Leorio cleverly communicating with Gon and Killua
The two boys and the three Troupe members arrive at the hotel and wait in the lobby. Killua says to himself that the Troupe will be suspicious of anyone that enters the hotel now, hoping that the others are already inside. He then whispers to Melody to give them a signal, repeating it twice as Gon continues to think of what to do. Killua says that it's their only chance, but before he can whisper it to Melody, Leorio suddenly slams down a newspaper and yells at someone on the phone, making sure that they know the hotel's name is Beitacle. He sees them staring at him and asks if they want a piece of him. Shizuku whispers if they should deal with him, but Chrollo tells them to ignore him.
Leorio tells the rest of the people in the lobby to mind their own business, returning to his phone conversation and using the phrase "close his eyes" before referencing seven o'clock and one second late. After Leorio hangs up, Gon gives a slight smirk and says to himself that Kurapika knows, confident that they will be able to use the cover of darkness. Killua tells himself that he will dislocate his joints and free himself from Machi's restraints, adding that he can attack within 0.7 seconds. He is confident that the plan will work since the Troupe will need a few seconds to adjust to the darkness once the power goes out. As the announcer on Leorio's radio begins a song request, Gon and Killua see that there are five minutes left until seven o'clock.
