Gelato (ジェラート, Jerāto) is a member of the Heil-Ly Family.[1]

Appearance[]

Gelato is a woman of average height. The right side of her hair is dark, while a portion of the left side is light. However, the rest of the left side is dark and longer than the right side. She also appears to have suture/stitch marks on both of her eyebrows.

Personality[]

From the description of her occupation, Gelato seems to enjoy gaming. Like her fellow Heil-Ly members, she has sadistic tendencies and no qualms about killing people. She seems to be cautious, saying that it would be risky to kill in the open because of the stricter security.[2]

Plot[]

Succession Contest arc[]

Gelato is seen with the other Heil-Ly members as Morena uses her Contagion on them one at a time and explains how her Nen ability works.[1]

Chap 393 - Several Heil-Ly members

Gelato amongst the members who witnessed Luini's death

In the Heil-Ly's hideout, several members look at the bottom half of Luini's corpse up against a nearby wall. A construction worker named Daemon (level 20) points out how much Luini's loss will affect them since he allowed them to hunt for prey from the hideout. Gelato (a professional gamer and level 19) adds how dangerous it will be now since the military is on high alert. An investigator's assistant named Perigord (level 18) suggests that someone should recreate Luini's ability. An arcade employee named Bille (level 20) says that he has already decided on his ability. Perigord reminds them that Morena said everyone has an innate type, confident that Luini was an Emitter. Bille replies that an Emitter needs to do the job, but Gelato points out that they need to figure out how to raise their levels so they can reach level 21. An Emitter and human trafficker named Voconte (level 26) suggests using his "door" ability to catch prey that wander into the trap, adding that they have ways to reel them in.[2]

Tevelares and Quorolle then enter the room, with the latter wondering if there are any Emitters since they need someone who can create projectiles. As Perigord comments on the popularity of Emitters, a college student named Matvere (level 18) happily says that he wants to be an Emitter and plans to make a firearm, with Gelato commenting that he doesn’t get to choose. Quorolle asks if he could handle handcuffs turned into pigeons, leaving Matvere confused. After Tevelares explains that the Xi-Yu underboss killed Padaille with his ability, and they need to destroy the pigeons at a distance, Matvere replies that he would need to try it to know for sure. Gelato, Tevelares, and Quorolle then enter a separate room and explain the situation to Morena, who emphasizes the need to analyze their opponents and use creativity. She explains that they don't need to rely on an Emitter if they can restrict the enemy or their ability. She then gives the example of an ability that tells one how many hits are needed to defeat an enemy, comparing it to a game. Quorolle realizes that she's the game master for a reason, and Gelato says that she will keep the idea in mind if she turns out to be a Conjurer. Morena asks if she wants to know her type, but Gelato replies that she wants it to be a surprise.[2]

Chap 394 - Bille learns that he's a Conjurer

Gelato recalls that most left handed people are Conjurers

After being teleported to the Heil-Ly's hideout, Tassi is left confused when he finds himself standing in front of a closed door. Bille suddenly appears behind him and stabs him in the neck with a small knife, celebrating the fact that he reached level 21. Three other members congratulate him as Matvere hands him a cup to perform the Water Divination test and says that he was a Transmuter. Bille hopes to be an Emitter, but is left disappointed when he turns out to be a Conjurer. Gelato is envious of him and points out that there seem to be a lot of left-handed Conjurers.[3]

Chap 399 - Orarge stopping Hinrigh's knife

Gelato watches as Orarge blocks a knife thrown at Perigord

As Hinrigh and Nobunaga infiltrate the Heil-Ly's hideout, Gelato has a conversation with Soufflé and Terebellum about something. She is also seen looking at a piece of paper as she talks to the other two members.[4]
