Maha Zoldyck (マハ゠ゾルディック, Maha Zorudikku)*[1] is a professional assassin and Zeno's grandfather. He is the oldest living member of the Zoldyck Family.
Appearance[]
Maha's body has probably deteriorated considerably due to his old age. He stands at 140 centimeters* (about 4 ft 7 in), ten centimeters shorter than Kalluto.
Personality[]
Maha's personality is mostly unknown, but he apparently has no deep relationships with any other Zoldyck,[3] despite this, he stills continues to help the family's business, as seen when he helped Illumi and Kalluto.[4] Being an assassin for decades, Maha is very likely cold-blooded and does not hesitate to kill his targets.
Background[]
Almost nothing is known about Maha. He was later mentioned by Zeno as having once fought Netero.[2]
Plot[]
Zoldyck Family arc[]
Maha is indirectly mentioned by Coco Loo when talking about the Zoldyck Family.[5]
Yorknew City arc[]
Maha helps his great-great-grandsons Kalluto and Illumi assassinate the Ten Dons after being hired by Chrollo.[4]
Chimera Ant arc[]
Zeno mentions that Netero is the only person who has fought Maha and lived, adding that the two are around the same age.[2]
13th Hunter Chairman Election arc[]
Maha makes a brief cameo appearance during Killua's deduction of all the connections among the Zoldyck Family. Maha appears to have no relationship of any kind with anyone in his family.[3]
Equipment[]
Zoldyck Personal Transmitter: The assassins of the Zoldyck Family can contact each other with a special transmitter to report the fulfillment of a murder contract.[4]
Abilities & Powers[]
Assassination Skills: Maha, being a Zoldyck assassin, is one of the best killers in the world, as seen when he helped Illumi to kill the Ten Dons.[4] Given his age, he must be extremely experienced in the field of assassination.
Nen[]
Maha is an Enhancer* (🖱️).[1] According to Zeno, Maha was so powerful in his youth that Netero, once considered the strongest Nen user in the world, is the only person to challenge him and live to tell the tale.[2]

Trivia[]
- In the official databook, his name is also spelled as "Mahha Zaoldyeck".[1]
- His name is not given in the manga or anime adaptations, only mentioned in the official databook.[1]
- In Coco Loo's explanation[5] and according to the 2004 databook,[1] Maha is Zeno's father.[5][1] However, in Chapter 264, it seems as though Yoshihiro Togashi retconned him to be Zeno's grandfather. His age may have been changed as well since the family tree lists him as being the same age as Isaac Netero.[2]
- It is also possible that Maha and Zigg Zoldyck are the same person and that his name was retconned along with his age and his relations to the rest of the family.
Anime and Manga Differences[]
- Maha does not appear during the Yorknew City arc in the 2011 anime adaptation.
- In the 1999 anime adaptation of the Greed Island arc, Maha appeared in a non-speaking cameo.[6]
