The Meteor City's Elder ((りゅう)(せい)(がい)()(ちょう)(ろう)()()()(), Ryūseigai no Chōrō) was a member of Meteor City's Assembly.[3]

Appearance[]

Chap 352 - Meteor City's Elder (p11f1)

Meteor City's Elder's manga appearance

The Meteor City's Elder dressed in dirty ragged clothing that nearly covered up his entire body. He also wore a mouthpiece that covered his nose and mouth.[3]

Personality[]

Little is known about the Elder but he considered the dichotomy between humans and puppets was little,[3] and as a Meteor City resident, he was likely influenced by the conditions of there, sharing remarkable bonds that have been described as "thinner than water, and yet thicker than blood".[4]

Plot[]

Succession Contest arc[]

Amid his battle with Hisoka, Chrollo reveals that his Nen ability The Sun and Moon originally belonged to the Meteor City's Elder. The elder used the ability to send a "message" by using a fellow resident of the city at any aggressors who have done harm in any way to any resident of the city.[3]

Abilities & Powers[]

Being part of the Assembly[2] of Elders[1] it is likely that he has some political influence on Meteor City.

Nen[]

It is not known what the proficiency of the Meteor City's Elder in Nen is, but he is skilled enough to have created a Nen ability.[3]

Meteor City's Elder Nen Abilities
Type: Unknown The Sun and Moon (番いの破壊者(サンアンドムーン) San Ando Mūn, lit. "Paired Destruction")
Chrollo Sun and Moon
Chap 352 - The Sun and Moon effect (p11f6)
Although the Meteor City's Elder was never shown using The Sun and Moon, through Chrollo's use of the ability its mechanism is known.

Two symbols appear on user's hands: a sun with a plus on the left and a waxing/waning moon with a minus on the right. By touching the intended target, the user can mark them with a different symbol depending on which hand he used. When the two marks touch each other, they trigger an explosion. The marks can be created instantly, but to reach their full power; in Chrollo's usage he needs to touch the target for three to five seconds. In the latter case, the explosion is powerful enough to kill people around the bearer of the marks, instead of just the bearer themselves.[5] A symbol can be fully charged even after its application, by means of physical contact.[6] Despite Chrollo saying that the marks themselves explode, the fully charged symbols were able to turn what they were affixed on into a bomb, including parts separated after the application of the symbols.[7]

This ability may have been stolen, borrowed, or even received from the Meteor City's Elder. Although he died since, his Nen became so powerful after his death that Chrollo was able to retain his ability. For the same reason, once the marks are affixed, they will remain into existence even if the Skill Hunter book is closed, until they explode.[3] Their power is such that they can even counter the restrictions on Skill Hunter, preventing a copy created with Gallery Fake from disappearing even after the ability is no longer in use if a mark has been affixed on it.[8] The Nen type of this ability is currently unknown, although its effects could be explained by a combination of Emission and Transmutation.

Trivia[]

  • The method of using human bombs as means of revenge occurred in The Bum Incident incident related to Meteor City.[9] It is possible that the Elder was the one who turned them into one, given that a scene of a smoking crater caused by some sort of an explosion is seen somewhere in an unnamed city.[3]
