The NGL Interpreters are a pair of interpreters that work for the NGL government.[1]
Appearance[]
The female interpreter has long fair hair tied in two ponytails, large eyes, and no visible nose. She wears a short-sleeved dress, bloomers, and plain sandals.[1][2]
The male interpreter has facial hair, thick eyebrows, dark hair, and a large nose. He wears a hat and a covering that appears to be made of fur.[1]
Personality[]
Although the NGL interpreters come off as kind and informative, in reality, they're lookouts that monitor visitors for the NGL government.[1]
Plot[]
Chimera Ant arc[]
The NGL interpreters follow Kite, Gon, Killua, Stick, and Podungo as their guide and interpreter as they scour NGL and talk to local natives. During their search through NGL, Killua perceives that despite their claims to be interpreters, overall, they're there to monitor them.[1]
Just after one of Ponzu's bees delivers a message, Kite instructs Stick and Podungo to return to the border while he, Gon, and Killua would further inspect NGL. The female NGL interpreter offers to follow along as the horses can go faster, but Kite refuses as the horses will slow them down. The trio then makes a run for it at an accelerated speed, leaving the female interpreter and the horses flabbergasted.[2]
Sometime after Gon and Killua's confrontation with Neferpitou, the interpreters spot Killua from a faraway distance carrying an unconscious Gon.[3]

- The names of the interpreters were never given in the manga nor the 2011 anime adaptation. However, the female interpreter has been referred to as 監視員[4] (Kanshiin, lit. "Observer") in both the Hunter × Hunter Battle Collection card game and Hunter × Hunter Arena Battle mobile game.[5]
