Perigord (ペリゴル, Perigoru) is a member of the Heil-Ly Family.[1]

Appearance[]

Perigord is a tall man with a chubby face and a prominent nose. His hair parts in the middle, and his bangs reach his eyes. He wears pants and a long-sleeved shirt that reveals some of his chest.

Personality[]

Perigord has a calm demeanor, continuing to eat his food after kicking Lynch in the midsection. He seems to be practical and capable of formulating plans to ambush the Xi-Yu members,[2] and laments the loss of Luini's useful ability.[3] Like his fellow Heil-Ly members, he seems to have sadistic tendencies and no qualms about killing many people.

Plot[]

Succession Contest arc[]

Perigord is seen with the other Heil-Ly members as Morena uses her Contagion on them one at a time and explains how her Nen ability works.[1]

Chap 390 - Perigord kicking Lynch

Perigord kicking Lynch

When Hinrigh, Zakuro, and Lynch reach Tier 3 to look for Hisoka and Morena, Perigord is seen eating at a fast-food restaurant with a female Heil-Ly member. He is the first to spot the three Xi-Yu members, telling his comrade to tell Morena. Hinrigh immediately recognizes that the two looked at them, telling Zakuro and Lynch to get information from Perigord. Lynch politely asks if she can ask him some questions, and while he says that it's fine, he points out that the guy behind them might have an issue with them. After Bille suddenly slashes Zakuro's neck with a knife, Perigord quickly kicks Lynch in the midsection and sends her to the floor, calmly continuing to eat his burger.[2]

Perigord then stands over Lynch and orders her to answer his questions, but she points out that she should help his friend instead. Perigord quickly turns around to see Bille wrapped in the blood coming from Zakuro's wound. Zakuro uses it to lift Bille into the air and slam him into the floor. With Perigord left stunned, Lynch asks him if they are Heil-Ly and to say how many of them there are in total, suddenly punching him in the midsection as the answer "We've got 23 people!" shoots out of him. Left speechless by the strike, Perigord cannot believe that a voice came from his body. Lynch begins to wind up her arm and asks how many of them have abilities, ordering him to tell her what they are.[2]

Chap 390 - Lynch's punches

Lynch punching Perigord to get information

As Lynch hits him in the face with a flurry of punches, Perigord answers that he doesn't know how many have abilities, that their boss gave them the abilities and they have activation conditions, and that killing people increases their level and abilities activate upon reaching level 21. With his face bloodied, Perigord falls to the floor unconscious, and Lynch calls him weak, wondering if he even has Nen and saying that she can't question him if he's unconscious. Hinrigh then returns and explains that the two Mafia members are considered civilians since the Heil-Ly bypassed the Justice Bureau.[2]

In the Heil-Ly's hideout, several members look at the bottom half of Luini's corpse up against a nearby wall. A construction worker named Daemon (level 20) points out how much Luini's loss will affect them since he allowed them to hunt for prey from the hideout. A professional gamer named Gelato (level 19) adds how dangerous it will be now since the military is on high alert. Perigord (an investigator's assistant and level 18) suggests that someone should recreate Luini's ability. Bille (an arcade employee and level 20) says that he has already decided on his ability. Perigord reminds them that Morena said everyone has an innate type, confident that Luini was an Emitter. Bille replies that an Emitter needs to do the job, but Gelato points out that they need to figure out how to raise their levels so they can reach level 21. Matvere says that he wants to be an Emitter but that he can't do this. An Emitter and human trafficker named Voconte (level 26) suggests using his "door" ability to catch prey that wander into the trap, adding that they have ways to reel them in.[3]

Continuing to review the camcorder footage, Hinrigh confirms that the Heil-Ly are using teleportation as he sees Perigord and Bille using the only hallway to enter the standard cabins and somehow entering again hours later from a different direction. Although he considers the possibility of secret passageways, he is confident that they are using a Nen ability to access their hideout.[4]

Chap 399 - Orarge stopping Hinrigh's knife

Orarge stopping Hinrigh's knife and chastising Perigord

After Hinrigh and Nobunaga infiltrate the Heil-Ly's hideout, Hinrigh's knife heads straight for Perigord, who calmly puts out his hand and wonders how long it would take for the injury to heal. However, Orarge uses an issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump to stop the knife and tells Perigord that he should have avoided it, wondering why he's trying to use his ability. Orarge reminds Perigord that he has already been chosen as the "organ" and that Morena told him to keep his head down, with Perigord remembering and apologizing.[5]

Abilities & Powers[]

Nen[]

Perigord has reached at least level 21 since Orarge chastised him for attempting to use his ability instead of avoiding an attack. The ability presumably involves healing since Perigord wondered how long it would take for a knife wound in his hand to heal.[5]
