Sansho (サンショウ, Sanshou) is a minor character in the video game Hunter × Hunter: Each One's Determination. He appears in Kurapika and Hisoka's routes. He is one of the Four Heavenly King mafiosos in Sunaka.

Appearance[]

Sansho is a middle-aged man with a tan complexion. His hair is balding and is depicted with a grey-brown color. His eyes are brown. Sansho also lacks any eyebrows. Clothing-wise, the man's outfit consists of a tan short-sleeve with a brown fringed vest and blue jeans.

Personality[]

According to locals, he is a greed-stricken hunter who is hard to track down. In truth, Sansho is a fake Hunter who scams others. He is also someone who can rarely be trusted thanks to his ties with Rorgo and the other Heavenly Kings. When Kurapika is about to give his license to him, he promptly stops himself, which causes Sansho to fight him. When he feels his opponent is out of his league in battle, he will back away when approached, which can make defeating him through a ring out simple. He will also resort to backhanded methods to win. This includes resorting to firearms or using Donal's clones.

Background[]

As explained by Sansho himself, he is not an actual hunter. He merely pretends to be. After failing the Hunter Exam a year prior because of Hisoka, Sansho would begin cooperating with Don Gappai and joined the Four Heavenly Kings. Ever since, he has had a history of scamming others throughout Sunaka City. He is also difficult to track down by normal means, and must be first contacted via the local Cyber Cafe.

Sansho and Kurapika Meeting Each One's Determination

Kurapika meets Sansho

Sansho first appears in Kurapika’s route. After assisting a little girl with a Noggin Lugging Tortoise in a nearby cave, Kurapika is told the password 'FAKE.' Using this at a local Cyber Cafe, he is able to track down Sansho's whereabouts at a nearby mansion. There, a confrontation occurs. Kurapika requests his services to teach him Nen. Sansho only agrees so long as the rookie hands over his license. As Kurapika is about to, he decides against it. There, Sansho is left angered and begins to fight him. As Kurapika barely learned Nen basics from Tron, he is left struggling at first. However, concentrating his aura, he manages to scare off and defeat Sansho. There, Sansho reveals Rorgo's ties to the Scarlet Eyes and runs away.

In Hisoka's route, the two encounter each other in Sunaka. Sansho then fights him. After Hisoka defeats Sansho, he retreats and proceeds to gather several Majtani clones made by Donal. He then attempts to fight Hisoka again. However, despite being outnumbered, Hisoka manages to kill them all. Once Sansho leaves again, Hisoka decides to use a terminal at the Sengi Guild to gather information on both Gon and Sansho. For the latter, he finds out he resides in Dore. Hisoka then recalls Uvogin to be there. Thus, he decides to regroup with Uvo in order to go after Sansho.

In Dore, the duo manages to find his location, with Uvogin taking out multiple Majtani clones. However, the room fills with gas which weakens Hisoka. This results in Sansho entering the room to fight him once more. Despite Hisoka’s weakened state, Sansho is defeated. With his last breath, he declares the remaining Heavenly Kings will go after them. He then claims one is currently in Whale Island. He then dies as Hisoka is left intrigued and aims to head there.

Abilities & Powers[]

Sansho Nen Ability Each One's Determination

Sansho's clacker ability

Due to his connections to the darker side of Sunaka, he is a man with battle experience. For this, he is able to dodge and even counter short-range abilities and prefers to keep his distance when at a disadvantage. Sansho's primary weapon is his clackers of pink and blue. When close by, the mafioso may resort to his pocket knife instead. He is also shown having a gun during Kurapika and Hisoka's battles, but only uses it when threatened.

Nen[]

Sansho is a Nen User, as revealed in his fight against Kurapika, specifically a manipulator. His abilities revolve around his clacker weapons and making them more powerful. He is also able to heal himself with his aura.

Trivia[]

  • If Kurapika loses to Sansho the first time fighting him, Tron’s bracelet will revive him, making it near impossible to receive a game over.
