The Southernpiece [Auction] Catalog[note 1] (
Appearance[]
The catalog is a thick, dark-colored book with light-colored trimming and large text on the front.[1]
Plot[]
Yorknew City arc[]
Gon, Killua, and Leorio visit the Southernpiece Auction House to purchase a copy of the Southernpiece Catalog. After Gon signs the bank transfer to pay the required 12 million, the attendant Fumi explains that all the items for the year's auction are listed inside. She shows them the card used as their admission ticket and adds that up to five people can use it to attend the auction during its five days. She asks Gon under whose name he wants to register the card, and Gon happily replies with his own. Gon then quickly flips through the book to reach the page on Greed Island. After reading through an extensive description for the game itself, the three learn that a copy will be auctioned every day between September 6-8 and that two will be auctioned on September 10. Leorio also sees that the minimum bid is 8.9 billion. Shortly afterwards, Milluki arrives at the auction house and also purchases a catalog.[1]
Greed Island arc[]
Gon and Killua run into Phinks and Feitan at the Southernpiece Auction. The thieves were able to gain entrance to the auction with a stolen copy of the catalog.[2] After Gon and Killua meet Mr. Battera, he tells them that Greed Island has a player limit, but Gon replies that the catalog said otherwise. Batter explains that while there's no limit to the amount of people who can play, they need to save their data, and eight players is the limit per cartridge.[3]
After Phinks and Feitan transport themselves to Greed Island, Machi asks what kind of game it is. Franklin answers that the catalog they stole says that the game can actually kill the player. Shalnark then takes the catalog and reads it intently.[4] Sometime later, Franklin is seen reading through it as Shalnark convinces Shizuku and Kortopi to enter the game with him.[5]
Trivia[]
