Terebellum (トレベルム, Toreberumu) is a member of the Heil-Ly Family.[1]
Appearance[]
Terebellum is a tall, stocky man with a distinctly raised hairstyle. He also has sideburns and a goatee. He is seen wearing a full-body tracksuit.[2]
Personality[]
Like his fellow Heil-Ly members, Terebellum has sadistic tendencies and no qualms about killing many people, even referring to one of their victims as "waste".[2] However, he is extremely protective of the family's members, using his ability to take the damage away from Yokotani and pushing Soufflé away from himself when she forgot that she shouldn't touch him. After witnessing this, Nobunaga called Terebellum's ability sacrificial and not what he imagined from someone like him.[3]
Plot[]
Succession Contest arc[]
Terebellum is seen with the other Heil-Ly members as Morena uses her Contagion on them one at a time and explains how her Nen ability works.[1]
After Bille kills Tassi and reaches level 21, Terebellum is one of the four members who congratulate him. He then carries Tassi's corpse (which he calls "waste") to Montblanc in a large laundry room, adding that Voconte connected the room to processing. Montblanc asks Chiffon for help, and she quickly stops hanging up clothes and agrees to help. Terebellum tells them that they will all reach level 21 soon, pointing out that it's almost time for them to level up. As Montblanc holds a large blade in her hand, Chiffon begins to remove Tassi's clothes and happily looks forward to leveling up, with Terebellum waving goodbye to them.[2]
When Hinrigh and Nobunaga infiltrate the Heil-Ly's hideout, they find Terebellum, Soufflé, and Gelato having a conversation about something. Hinrigh eventually gets their attention by yelling and asking them to confirm that it's the Heil-Ly's hideout and they are all members. After pretending to be scared by Hinrigh, Terebellum, and Soufflé continue the conversation as if the two weren't there.[3]
Hinrigh suggests using one of his knives, and Nobunaga agrees since the door is most likely trapped as well, guessing that the members are so relaxed because they know the two of them can't go inside. Grasping his katana, Nobunaga says that he prefers to clean up trash as soon as he finds it, and Hinrigh reminds him that he was the one who suggested moving, agreeing with his trash comment and adding that he has plenty of knives to say hello. Hinrigh then hurls a knife toward Terebellum, and it pierces his head, causing the member to say that it hurt and to stand up from his chair. Soufflé can't believe that it's all the way in his head, but Terebellum calmly pulls it out, crushing the handle and revealing that the blade is missing. Hinrigh sees that the blade's tip is in the drink can Terebellum was holding, realizing that his ability involves matter transfer.[3]
Nobunaga says to himself that Terebellum is a bad match for him since he can't narrow down his ability, explaining that he could be an interceptor-type and that there are too many options for his conditions. As Soufflé grabs Terebellum's left arm and reminds him that they were told not to deal with intruders, Hinrigh throws another knife toward him, with Terebellum dodging and pushing Soufflé out of the way. Terebellum criticizes Soufflé for carelessly touching him, and she apologizes before saying that she will leave and reminding them that they shouldn't fight there.[3]
Yokotani speaks up and confirms Hinrigh's identity, introducing himself as the family's lawyer. Terebellum then tells him to call the military and police since a crazy person is throwing knives and going on a rampage. Yokotani explains that they have committed both trespassing and bodily harm, which is as close as they can get to attempted murder. He asks if it's okay to report it to the police, and Hinrigh says that it's convenient since they're lost, wondering where they are. Yokotani replies that he can't reveal that and agrees to keep things civil if they follow his instructions. Nobunaga then gets his attention, and Yokotani recognizes him as a member of the Phantom Troupe, saying that it's a big deal for them.[3]
Before Yokotani can finish asking a question, Nobunaga uses a chain attached to the end of his katana to reach the Heil-Ly member and stab his head. However, Terebellum is seen with his right hand on Yokotani's shoulder. When Nobunaga pulls back his katana, he sees that the tip is missing, realizing that Terebellum can also move the damage from other people. Blood begins to stream down Terebellum's left arm as he tells Yokotani to stay back. Nobunaga says that if Terebellum doesn't transfer the damage he receives with his right hand to something else with his left hand, he will receive the damage himself. He describes the ability as unselfish and adds that it doesn't suit his appearance at all. It's explained that Terebellum's Emission ability, Damage: "Sweet Home", allows him to displace damage along with the attacking object. The damage to something touched by his right hand is taken into Terebellum himself, and it can be transferred to something when he touches it with his left hand. It only works if he is touching it the moment the damage is received.[3]
Nobunaga tells Terebellum to step back and tells Yokotani to come closer again, promising to skewer all of them as aura surrounds his katana. Yokotani apologizes and says that he didn't expect Nobunaga to abandon the spirit of a samurai, and Terebellum criticizes him for getting close to the enemy so carelessly. Yokotani realizes that he's the reason why Terebellum's ability was exposed and wonders how he can apologize, explaining that the samurai of his homeland were against the use of projectile weapons. Terebellum wonders if he will keep making excuses, and Yokotani quickly apologizes before saying that he will disappear for a while. However, Terebellum tells him that he will make the intruders disappear, reminding him that he identified himself to them and that he is a guard.[3]
Abilities & Powers[]
Nen[]
Terebellum is an Emitter. Having reached level 21 with Morena's Nen ability, Terebellum's aura amount and output have been increased. He also obtained a Nen ability.[2]

Type: Emission | Damage: "Sweet Home" (Damage Sweet Home) | |
Terebellum can displace damage along with the attacking object. He takes the damage of what his right-hand touches into himself and can transfer it into whatever his left-hand touches. However, it is only effective if he touches the object when the damage is taken. Passively, he can also transfer any damage he receives without having to use his right hand as long as his left hand is touching something. If he fails to touch something with his left hand while attempting to take damage with his right hand, his left hand will receive the damage from the attack.[3] |
