Timeline

The following is a list of events as they take place in the world of Hunter × Hunter, starting from the past and heading towards the present storyline. Part of the information is unreliable, has been or may in the future be subjected to retcons. As is the case for the year the series is set in, in the event of contradictory information, the most recent version is taken to overwrite the other.

In the case of the Yorknew City arc, the calendar matches that of real-life year 1999, whereas the Succession Contest arc, set in in-universe 2001, follows the calendar of the year 2017. The specific days of the week were not retconned in the following timeline.

c. 1899	Benny Delon is active as a serial killer and blacksmith.

1942	Biscuit Krueger is born.
Before 1945	Winter: Netero retreats to the mountains and expresses his gratitude with 10,000 punches a day.

1970	Kakin Empire shifts from social imperialism to parliamentary democracy during "The Most Silent Revolution in History". Ming Jol-ik secretly retires, leaving a figurehead to rule in his stead. September 8th: Nobunaga Hazama is born.
1971	Beyond convinces Kakin soldiers into having sham marriages so they can raise his children.
1972	Shoot McMahon is born.
1972 or 1973	Chrollo Lucilfer is born. Pakunoda is born at some unknown point afterward.
1975	Illumi Zoldyck is born.

Before 1978	Gyro establishes NGL.

1980	March 3rd: Leorio Paradinight is born.
	Tsezguerra, Barry, Kess, and Rodriot begin to work together. Ging begins to study archeologists' websites and blogs. Morena’s mother dies.
1981	Hanzo is born.

1982	April 4th: Kurapika is born.
	Ging sets up a nonprofit corporation to repair and research an ancient royal burying ground.
1983 or 1984	Chrollo begins to put on shows of the Power Cleaners, which results in "Something Troupe" being created.

	Chrollo announces his return in three years.
c. 1986	Canary is born.
1986 or 1987	The Phantom Troupe is founded. Sometime after, four new members join, two of them being Kortopi and Bonolenov Ndongo.
Before 1987	NGL becomes a nation, and Gyro becomes its king.
1987	Three members of a TV crew attempt to shoot a documentary in NGL and are arrested. Ging and his friends create Greed Island.
	May 5th: Gon Freecss is born. July 7th: Killua Zoldyck is born.
Before 1988	Battera's lover falls into a coma after an accident.
1988	Battera offers rewards for Greed Island cartridges.
	Alluka Zoldyck is born.
c. 1989	Ging takes Gon to Greed Island. Ging encounters the Captain. Ging takes Gon to Whale Island.
1989	Kalluto Zoldyck is born.
	A tramp from Meteor City is arrested under false charges. Mike becomes the Zoldyck Family's watchdog.
1990	Killua begins to train in tailing.
1991	Kurt is born. August 19th: Risnorth, a philanthropist and former human trafficker, is murdered.
1992	The tramp from Meteor City is revealed to be innocent, and his fellow citizens blow themselves up together with 31 people involved in his trial. Milluki leaves the Zoldyck mansion for the last time in seven years. Leorio has his first drink.
1993	Between January and September 2nd: Kurapika and Pairo meet Sheila. Killua challenges the Heavens Arena for the first time. Two months later: Killua reaches the 150th floor.
1994	Killua reaches the 199th floor of the Heavens Arena. Between January and September 2nd: Kurapika takes the first test to visit the outside world. Three minutes later: Kurapika completes the first test. One week later, night: Kurapika begins the exit test with Pairo as his partner. Six hours and 30 minutes later, After sunrise: Kurapika and Pairo reach Nancha. Roughly within the next five hours: Kurapika and Pairo shop and confront the thugs before being chased out of the city. Roughly 12 hours later, night: Kurapika and Pairo return to their village, clearing the test. Between January and September 2nd: The Kurta Clan is exterminated by the Phantom Troupe. Six weeks After Kurapika's departure: A female traveler spreads news of the extermination of the Kurta Clan. Genthru, Jispa, Kazsule, and 7 others form an alliance to clear Greed Island.
1995	Kite heads to Whale Island to look for Ging and meets Gon, who tames Kon. Reina is born.
1996	The 284th Hunter Exam takes place, and Pokkle fails during the 4th phase. Around late June: The Phantom Troupe gathers in its entirety for the last time in three years. Seaquant hires 100 thugs to storm the Zoldyck mansion, but they are defeated by Canary. July or later: Silva kills a Phantom Troupe member.
1997	Hisoka Morow replaces member #4 of the Phantom Troupe. Hisoka "initiates" Kastro to Nen at the Heavens Arena. Kite and the Amateur Hunters are hired by Kakin to conduct a biological survey. Pariston Hill is appointed Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association.
1998	January: The 286th Hunter Exam takes place. Hisoka is disqualified After nearly killing Togari. Muherr makes Golem's acquaintance. Morena becomes the boss of the Heil-Ly Family.
Before October 1998	Zushi becomes Wing's pupil.
Between December 27th and December 31st, 1998	Gon catches the Master of the Swamp. Mito signs Gon's Hunter Exam application.

January 7th, 1999	The 287th Hunter Exam begins. Roughly three hours later: The applicants clear the first 40 kilometers of the marathon. Roughly three hours later: The applicants minus Nicholas clear the first 80 kilometers of the marathon. 12:00: The second phase begins. 20:05: Beans announces when Trick Tower will be reached.
January 8th, 1999	00:05: Gon and Killua join forces against Netero. 01:15: Killua gives up. 04:19: Gon forces Netero to use his right hand and falls asleep. 09:30: Arrival at Trick Tower (90 minute delay requested by Netero). 10:11: Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio enter Trick Tower. 12:08: Tonpa enters the Trick Tower. 12:13: The five begin their trial. Around 12:35: Gon's contest against Sedokan begins. 15:47: Hisoka passes the third phase. 21:33: Killua begins to suspect Majtani is playing possum. 21:45: Leorio loses his contest against Leroute. 21:47: The five enter the isolation room.

Heavens Arena arc

August 14th, 1999	Gon and Killua access the Hunter Website. Their money-raising competition begins.
August 29th, 1999	Baise, Basho, Kurapika and Melody are formally hired and meet Neon Nostrade. Neon and her bodyguards leave for Yorknew City.
August 31st, 1999	35 hours after since: Neon's blimp lands at Lingon Airport. 12:00: The Phantom Troupe gathers in Yorknew. 21:00: Gon and Killua's competition ends with Gon as the victor.
September 1st, 1999	Gon, Killua, and Leorio meet up in Yorknew City and begin to earn money with an arm-wrestling competition. Milluki leaves home for Yorknew City. 21:00: The Underground Auction begins and the Spiders kill all the guests. The Shadow Beasts are exterminated by the Phantom Troupe. Uvogin is captured by Kurapika. Before midnight: Uvogin regains consciousness in the Hotel Beitacle. Kurapika meets up with Hisoka. The Spiders free Uvogin.
September 2nd, 1999	17:00: Gon, Killua, and Leorio sign up for a hunt for the Phantom Troupe. After sunset: Kurapika vs. Uvogin. Gon pawns his Hunter license.
September 3rd, 1999	Neon and her bodyguards check out of the Hotel Beitacle and rent another room under a different name. Light Nostrade arrives in Yorknew City. Gon and Killua participate in a silent auction. Milluki arrives in Yorknew City. 12:00: The silent auction ends. Gon and Killua meet Zepile and take the contents of a wooden vault to the Preview Market. Light Nostrade arrives in Yorknew City. Gon and Killua tail Machi Komacine and Nobunaga Hazama. Gon and Killua are captured by the Phantom Troupe. Before 16:15: Neon slips away from her bodyguards. After sunset: The Mafia assassins attend a meeting. Chrollo smuggles Neon in the Cemetery Building. Before 20:15: The Spiders attack the Mafia. Four hours after Neon slips away: Gon and Killua escape from Nobunaga. Chrollo vs. Silva and Zeno. Illumi kills the Ten Dons. The Spiders stage their deaths, copy the auction items, and steal the originals. Kurapika obtains the fake Scarlet Eyes.
September 4th, 1999	Kurapika meets with Gon and Killua. Zepile sells the jewels at the dealers' market. The Mafia cancels the bounty on the Spiders. Hisoka tricks the Troupe into remaining in Yorknew. Gon and Killua are captured by the Phantom Troupe. Nobunaga beheads Squala . Around 18:55: Leorio confirms to Gon and Killua the plan is on. 18:57: Kortopi, Nobunaga, and Pakunoda arrive at the lobby of the Hotel Beitacle. 18:58: Gon and Killua argue with Nobunaga. 18:59: Gon and Killua stall to prevent Pakunoda from touching them. 19:00: Pakunoda reads their memories one instants before the lights go out, but Gon and Killua fail to escape. Kurapika kidnaps Chrollo. 20:00: Pakunoda meets with Kurapika at Lingon Airport. Before midnight: Hostage exchange.
September 5th, 1999	Pakunoda dies. At sunrise: Chrollo begins traveling eastward.

Greed Island arc

September 6th, 1999	First day of the Southernpiece Auction. Gon and Killua are failed by Tsezguerra and begin to work on their Nen abilities. Phinks Magcub and Feitan Portor steal a copy of Greed Island and enter the game.
September 7th, 1999	Gon gets a working command of Ten-based Ko. Kurapika leaves Yorknew.
September 8th, 1999	Nobunaga's 29th birthday.
	Zepile returns Gon his money.
Between September 8th and September 10th, 1999	Gon redeems his Hunter License and leaves it in a safe-deposit box with Ging's.
September 10th, 1999	Battera wins the seventh and last copy of Greed Island. Milluki returns home. Gon and Killua pass Tsezguerra's tryouts. 17:00: The hired players leave for Battera's castle. After sunset: The hired players enter Greed Island. 23:49: Tsezguerra reenters Greed Island.
September 11th, 1999	Gon and Killua reach Antokiba. Jeet is killed by the Bomber. Gon and Killua meet Nickes. Abengane and Puhat join the alliance and temporarily leave the game.
September 15th, 1999	Killua wins the Antokiba monthly tournament (rock-paper-scissors). Kazsule steals "Sword of Truth" from Gon and Killua. Gon and Killua meet Biscuit and depart for Masadora. Shalnark realizes Greed Island is in the real world. Feitan and Phinks start killing players. After sunset: Biscuit, Gon, and Killua meet the Sick Villagers.
September 15th or 16th, 1999	Before sunrise: Gon and Killua begin training under Biscuit in the badlands. Before sunrise: Gon and Killua begin training against Binolt.
September 26th or 27th, 1999	Night: Binolt admits defeat.
September 27th or 28th, 1999	After sunrise: Biscuit, Gon, and Killua run to Masadora. Three hours later: Arrival in Masadora. Roughly two and a half hours later: Return to the badlands.
September 29th or 30th, 1999	Gon and Killua discover Shu.
Early October, 1999	Gon and Killua reach Masadora, completing the first phase of Biscuit's training. Gon and Killua start hunting Greed Island creatures.
Early October to Early November, 1999	Killua catches the Bubble Horse, completing the second phase of Biscuit's training. Two weeks later: Gon catches the Bubble Horse, completing the second phase of Biscuit's training. Gon and Killua begin Ken training.
Late November or Early December, 1999	Gon and Killua manage to hold their Ken for 30 minutes. Gon and Killua begin Ryu training.
Mid-December, 1999	Two weeks later: Gon and Killua begin Nen type training. Feitan, Franklin Bordeau, Kortopi, Phinks, Shalnark, and Shizuku Murasaki enter Greed Island illegally, but are teleported away by Razor.
December 29th, 1999	Genthru reveals his true colors. Killua leaves the game and registers for the 288th Hunter Exam. Abengane informs Gon and Biscuit and exorcises Countdown. The Bombers detonate all bombs. Killua goes to the Kiriko's house.. Gon and Biscuit head to Masadora, where "Chrollo Lucilfer" is registered in Gon's binder.
January 2nd, 2000	Killua and the Kiriko depart for Beeskafmarro.
January 6th, 2000	The Kiriko drop Killua in Beeskafmarro.
January 7th, 2000	Two hours before lunchtime: The 288th Hunter Exam begins. 90 minutes later: Killua passes the exam.
Between January 17th and January 14th, 2000	Killua has Milluki forge weaponized yo-yos for him.
January 14th, 2000	Killua reenters Greed Island. In the badlands Killua finds "Chrollo Lucilfer" among Gon's contacts. Four hours later: Killua reenters the game after warning Kurapika. Hisoka makes contact with the Spiders on Greed Island. Gon, Killua, and Biscuit obtain one "King White Stag Beetle" and one "Gold Dust Girl" each.
January 15th, 2000	Gon and Killua win the Antokiba monthly tournament (tug of war). Gon, Killua, and Biscuit head to Dorias and obtain three "Witch's Love Potion", four "Risky Dice", and one "Memory Helmet".
January 16th, 2000	Gon is contacted by Kazsule. 20 minutes later: Gon trades a "Witch's Love Potion" for Kazsule's " Book of V.I.P. Passes" 500 meters northwest of Dorias. Killua wins a "Rainbow Diamond" and a "Fledgling Gambler" with the aid of a Risky Dice.
Between January 16th and Mid-February, 2000	Battera's lover dies. Gon's team collects "Fledgling CEO", "Doyen's Growth Pills", and "Staff of Judgment", for a total of 50 specified slot cards.
Mid-February, 2000	Gon's team begins to trade "Leave" cards in exchange for rare ones. Genthru is contacted by Tsezguerra. Roughly one hour later: The Bombers steal cards from Tsezguerra's team. Gon obtains " Wild Luck Alexandrite". After sunset: Formation of Kazsule's Alliance. Kazsule's Alliance competes against Razor and his pirates. One day later, after sunrise: Gon's team and Goreinu meet with Hisoka and Tsezguerra's team.
Late February, 2000	Roughly one week later, after sunset: Gon's new alliance confronts Razor. At sunrise: Gon's team acquires "Plot of Beach". Hisoka negotiates with Abengane. Roughly one hour after sunrise: Tsezguerra's team opens hostilities against the Bombers. Gon begins Gyo training and Level 5 Emission exercises. Three days later: Goreinu resupplies Tsezguerra's team with spell cards.
Early to Mid-March, 2000	Six days later: The Bombers begin to stake out the spell card shop.
	March 3rd: Leorio's 20th birthday.
	One week later, at 15:05: Tsezguerra's team leaves the game. Ten days later, at 15:05: The card data of Tsezguerra's team is eliminated. 15:10: The Bombers restock on spells before facing Gon's team. Gon's team defeats the Bombers in one-on-one fights. After sunset: Endgame celebration. One day later, after sunrise: Gon, Killua, and Biscuit leave Greed Island. Gon and Killua chat with Kite. After sunset: The Chimera Ant Queen washes on the shores of the Yorbian Continent.

Chimera Ant arc

The Chimera Ant arc is one of the arcs in the story whose exact dates are hard to identify, because they depend on the interpretation of the 13^th Hunter Chairman Arc, the following arc. The events of these arcs are difficult to reconstruct accurately, or contain irreconcilable contradictions. The timeline suggested here embraces the inconsistencies to avoid assumptions. For clarity, speculatory dates are color-coded.

Within the Following 4 Days, 2000	One day later (possibly May 25th): Pokkle's team and at least five other groups of Hunters in NGL are wiped out. Gon, Killua, Kite, Stick Dinner, and Podungo Lapoy enter NGL. Pokkle is captured. Gon and Killua vs. Rammot. Gon, Killua and Kite vs. Yunju and his underlings. One day after Pokkle's capture (possibly May 26th): Spinner Clow contacts the Hunter Association. Rammot awakens to Nen. Gon, Killua, and Kite vs. Officers from Leol's Squad. Three days after Pokkle's capture (possibly May 28th): Neferpitou is born. Leol, Flutter, and Hina withdraw without confronting Gon, Killua, and Kite. Neferpitou vs. Kite.
Possibly May 30th, 2000	One day later: Netero, Morel Mackernasey, and Knov arrive at the border of NGL. Gon and Killua meet Palm in Doli City. Roughly at 15:00: Biscuit arrives. Roughly at 15:55: Gon and Killua run out of aura. 23:30: Biscuit uses her ability on Gon and Killua. Netero, Morel, and Knov arrive within sight of the nest. Shaiapouf is born.
Possibly June 8th, 2000	Nine days later, at 21:00: Gon and Killua succeed in maintaining Ren for three hours.
Possibly June 9th, 2000	One day later, at midnight: Gon and Killua challenge Knuckle Bine for the first time. After sunrise: Knuckle offers to fight Gon and Killua every night until the deadline.
Possibly June 18th, 2000	Nine days later: Gon promises Palm they will win.
Possibly June 22nd, 2000	Four days later: Netero, Morel, and Knov exterminate all but 14 Squadrons. Menthuthuyoupi is born.
Possibly June 28th, 2000	Six days later, at midnight: Gon vs. Knuckle at full strength. Roughly at 00:20: Gon passes out. After sunrise: Morel and Knov bet on whose disciples will arrive the following day. Biscuit spars with Killua.
Possibly June 29th, 2000	One day later, at midnight: Gon and Killua vs. Knuckle and Shoot. After dawn: Meruem is born. Meruem and the Royal Guards set out for the Republic of East Gorteau. Gon and Killua accompany Knuckle and Shoot to the border of NGL. Netero goes to see Zeno. Most Squadron Leaders leave the nest. The Chimera Ant Queen dies. Meruem and the Royal Guards take over the Royal Palace of East Gorteau. Knuckle and Shoot vs. manipulated Kite. Cheetu arrives in Pata City.
Possibly June 30th, 2000	One day later, at 10:00: Gon goes on a date with Palm. After sunset: Killua vs. Rammot. Knov and Shoot arrive in Doli.

Killua leaves the hospital in Swardani City to save Gon. Meruem dies.

13^th Hunter Chairman Election arc

The events of the 13^th Hunter Chairman Election arc are difficult to reconstruct accurately, or contain irreconcilable contradictions. The timeline suggested here embraces the inconsistencies to avoid assumptions.

Killua's travel time is inconsistent: according to the timeline, it took him several more days to reach his home than to do the return journey, despite Illumi's interference. Even if the Zodiacs' meeting was retconned to have taken place on the day of the Selection and the day right before the election, and Ging's meeting with Beans in Chapter 320 two days before then, the travel time of Cluck's pigeons and of the voters or the Zodiacs going off-site would remain inconsistent (excluding Nen abilities). Furthermore, despite the first round of the election supposedly lasting 24 hours, the events of Chapter 329 and Chapter 330 clarify that the rounds could not have lasted more than a few hours each. A possible solution to the contradiction would be that the requirement of strict punctuality mentioned in Chapter 320 implied that the polls would close as soon as the Hunters present all voted, without waiting until 23:59.

The alternative timeline that renders Killua's travel time consistent (the one indicated by "possibly") would posit the Zodiac meeting as well as the Selection Day to have taken place on August 7^th, 2000, and Ging to have visited the Hunter Association's headquarters on August 5^th, the Zodiacs having been sent a preview of Netero's last will days before the other Hunters.

The exact time that events taking place overnight between sunset on August 8^th and sunrise on August 9^th occur is ambiguous because no timestamps are shown, and so the events are included on August 8^th for simplicity's sake.

August 9th, 2000	After sunrise: the results of the seventh round are announced. The Hunters gather at HQ. Killua arrives at Gon's hospital. The four candidates speak. The eighth round begins. Nanika restores Gon. Gon arrives at the Hunter Association's HQ and speaks with Ging. The ninth round begins and ends. Pariston is elected 13th Chairman of the Hunter Association and resigns shortly after. Killua and Illumi have a showdown at the hospital. Killua's restrictions are lifted. Gon speaks to Kite. Gon and Killua part ways. Gon talks to Ging atop the World Tree.

Succession Contest arc

The first Zodiac meeting with Cheadle Yorkshire as Chairman (Chapter 340) seems to take place right after the day of her election, as the Zodiacs forgot that Pariston was no longer Vice Chairman and Cheadle had yet to choose hers. This would mean that Kakin's announcement of their expedition to the Dark Continent also was made the day after the election's conclusion, possibly explaining why, contrary to Ging's predictions in Chapter 331, Pariston did not delay the end of the election. Another implication is that Steiner, the IPA's Deputy Secretary, was tasked with studying Journey to the New World one month before then, which would require the V5 to have been aware of Kakin's project for at least that amount of time before it was announced. However, they did not seem to know about Beyond Netero's involvement, as supported by the timing of their request to the Hunter Association.

From this it can be inferred that events occurring in one chapter can be asynchronous, another example being Leorio and Kurapika's invitations to join the Zodiacs. Mizaistom Nana visited Beyond 35 days before the Black Whale's departure, scheduled for August 8^th. Mizaistom's conversation with Kurapika about moles then likely took place right after the 289^th Hunter Exam, whose schedule is known to have been modified to gather the necessary resources for the voyage. Leorio and Kurapika attended the meeting related to the Dark Continent one month before then, so around June 4^th, 2001.

Chapters in this arc are also known to be non-chronological and sometimes jump backwards in time (though are usually timestamped), most obviously seen in the events of Chapters 385, 386, and 387, or to a less obvious extent, the events from Chapters 389–400, which progress from Day 10 to Day 12 before jumping back to Day 10. Because of this, it should not be assumed that events happening sequentially also happen chronologically, neither should it be assumed that events occur exactly in the order listed below unless timestamped.

August 10^th, 2000

• Before sunrise: Gon and Ging part ways.
• At sunrise: Gon watches the Small-billed Swans take flight with Kite's group.
• Ging and Pariston leave the Zodiacs.
• Nasubi announces an expedition to the Dark Continent, which is to be led by Beyond.
• Steiner, the Deputy Secretary of the IPA, speaks at the V5 summit and convinces the V5 to support Nasubi's project.
• The V5 (in reality Steiner) commission the Hunter Association to hunt Beyond.
• The Zodiacs gather and watch Netero's DVD.
• Beyond hands himself over to the Zodiacs.

• Cheadle makes Beyond sign a contract she drew up.
• Kurapika and Leorio attend the Zodiac meeting about the upcoming expedition.

July 4^th, 2001

• The 289^th Hunter Exam ends. Through recordings of the examinees, Kurapika identifies many spies or companions of Beyond who are then prevented from passing, but lets Mizaistom know that other spies may remain.
• Muherr and his team return to the Dark Continent Expedition Team's lair, having failed the 289^th Hunter Exam.
• After sunset (in Kakin): 1^st Prince Benjamin Hui Guo Rou tells 4^th Prince Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou that their father King Nasubi Hui Guo Rou intends to declare the sole survivor of the succession contest his official heir.
• Theta phones Tserriednich to inform him that she, Salkov, Myuhan, Danjin, and another bodyguard had passed the 289^th Hunter Exam and become Provisional Hunters.
• Mizaistom and Kurapika identify Saiyu, the Monkey Zodiac, as a mole for Pariston.

  • Izunavi is hired to guard Tyson, Basho to guard Luzurus, Melody to guard Kacho, Hanzo to guard Momoze, Biscuit to guard Marayam, and Kurapika to guard Woble.
  • At 19:00: Basho, Hanzo, and Kurapika meet with their employers.
  • 19:00–19:09: Woble's mother 8^th Queen Oito Hui Guo Rou reveals the Succession Contest to Kurapika and Kurapika shares his terms. Oito and Kurapika come to a mutual agreement.

• July 10^th:Steiner, the the Deputy Secretary of the International Permit Agency (IPA), is assigned to evaluating the risks of the upcoming expedition to the Dark Continent.

August 7^th, 2001 (Sat)

• The eve (of departure) festival takes place. The Kakin royal family is televised being flown into the voyage ship. Festivities and celebrations are held in multiple places across the country. The Kakin royal family mingle with their guests at a banquet in the banquet hall of Tier 1 on the Black Whale. The staff of the Princes make their preparations for the voyage (briefings for bodyguards, room preparation for servants, etc.)
• Mizaistom informs Kurapika about the messy state of the lower tiers.
• Kurapika senses aura coming from Woble's direction

August 8^th, 2001 (Sun) (Day 1)

• At 12:00: The Black Whale leaves the harbor, and the departure ceremony begins. The Black Whale's departure horn is sounded, signaling the official start of the succession contest. The Kakin royal family mingle with guests at the Ceremonial Hall.
• Between 12:15 and 12:30: Woble's guard Woody is killed by the user of Silent Majority.
• Several of Woble's guards leave to receive Woble and Oito from the ceremony. Four more of Woble's guards are found killed upon their return. Two of Woble's guards are restrained. Kurapika sees Nen beasts in Room 1014 and reveals the existence of Nen beasts over the emergency channel.
• Around 14:00: The two restrained guards are killed. One more guard is killed. Sayird is taken into custody. Woble's staff is reduced to Kurapika, Bill, Shimano, and Sandra.
• 7^th Queen Sevanti moves mosst of her daughter 12^th Prince Momoze's guards to her son 13^th Prince Marayam's escort.
• Tserriednich begins learning Nen under Theta's tutelage.
• Around 18:00: Benjamin sends his private soldiers to guard all the other Princes and spy on them. His private soldier Vincent heads to Room 1014 and immediately kills Sandra. Vincent is subdued by Kurapika and Bill and takes a suicide pill.

• After sunrise: Little Eye is forcibly deactivated by Tserriednich's Guardian Spirit Beast.
• At 09:00: Kurapika gives his first Nen lesson.
  • The Silent Majority user possesses Kacho's servant Loberry with Silent Majority and kills Barrigen with the ability when Loberry causes a distraction. Loberry is arrested, and Room 1010 is placed under surveillance for three days.
  • At 09:45: Kurapika refuses Mushaho the right to carry weapons and asks the participants whether they wish to continue or not. He uses the time given for the participants to decide to covertly eliminate his allies from the list of suspects.
  • At 10:00: Kurapika's Nen lesson resumes.
• At 10:01: Hanzo summons his double. Hanzo gets Tuffdy to admit to killing Momoze, before killing Tuffdy.
• Phinks, Franklin, Feitan, and Nobunaga beat up three Buor Family thugs. The Spiders use them to learn about the three Kakin families, and get them to search for people of Hisoka's height.
• At 12:30: Kurapika's first lesson ends. Kurapika, 9^th Prince Halkenburg Hui Guo Rou's guard Yuhirai, and Sakata discuss the events in Halkenburg's room the previous day and agree to form an alliance between Zhang Lei, Tubeppa, Halkenburg, and the lower-ranking Princes.
• Hanzo returns to Room 1013 and finds Room 1013 empty, except for Marayam's Guardian Spirit Beast. He goes to Room 1014 to seek Kurapika's help. Room 1014 receives a call from Room 1013, and Kurapika and Hanzo conclude that Room 1013 has been transported by a Nen ability.

August 10^th, 2001 (Tue) (Day 3)

• At 01:27: 11^th Prince Fugetsu Hui Guo Rou's Guardian Spirit Beast manifests as door. She travels through the tunnel behind the door and appears in Kacho's bed.
• Biscuit and Hanzo offer to teach the staff in the true Room 1013 Nen. Belerainte confirms for Room 1013's occupants that Room 1013 has been transported.
• At 09:00: Kurapika begins his second lecture.
• Zhang Lei first discovers the coins produced by his Guardian Spirit Beast while he eats breakfast.
• In Room 1009, Halkenburg and his men have a moment of silence for Momoze. This action produces a large amount of aura, felt in Room 1001. Halkenburg makes his first visit to Nasubi with a letter.
• Camilla and Benjamin go to court over Musse and Camilla's attack on Benjamin and are confined to the VVIP area until Musse is found.

• Before sunrise: Fugetsu investigates her door's abilities.
• Kacho arranges for Melody to perform at the Sunday banquet, and her and Fugetsu to perform together after Melody's performance.
• The Phantom Troupe gather to share information before dispersing at the Cha-R Mafia Family's request.
  • Shizuku and Bonolenov team up with Chrollo, where Chrollo asks Bonolenov to disguise himself as Hisoka and be found by the Mafia, so that the Mafia would send him away from their territory and let the Phantom Troupe search for the real Hisoka with the mistaken belief that they could not find him.
• Cha-R boss Brocco Li phones Xi-Yu boss Onior Longbao about the Phantom Troupe and the two order their underbosses to find Hisoka.
• Heil-Ly boss Morena infects her 22 followers with her Contagion, allowing them to gain Nen abilities by killing people. Luini kills 20 people in Tier 3, awakening his Nen ability. Luini asks Cashew to leave hints to test the Kakin Military's investigative abilities.
• Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan head to the warehouse in Tier 5 to retrieve their weapons. Luini kills the warehouse guards to try and instigate them into fighting the Cha-R so that he could gain access to a secret door in the Cha-R hideout
• Mizaistom questions Cashew.
• Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan encounter Cha-R underboss Ken'i Wang. Franklin is approached by Cha-R advisor Ittoku. The Spiders agree to join the Cha-R guard rotation and to kill Luini in exchange for seeing what is behind the door Luini wanted access to.
• At 10:00: The Kakin military begins to sweep the lower decks for a dangerous stowaway.
• Illumi and Kalluto are caught in Tier 3.
• Fugetsu is found on Tier 3 and Mizaistom is informed. He leaves the search to interview Fugetsu.
• A proxy relays instructions from Mizaistom has instructions relayed to Melody in Room 1010, informing her of Kacho and Fugetsu's likely escape attempt, and asks her to support Keeney in addressing the matter.

August 12^th, 2001 (Thu) (Day 5)

• Mizaistom escorts Fugetsu from the Central Police Station on Tier 3 to Room 1011. Room 1010's investigator Kaiser informs Fugetsu she is placed under surveillance for 72h.
• Melody performs a preview for Seiko and Kaiser. The performance inspires Seiko to arrange for her full performance during the banquet to played through Tier 1's speakers.
• At 16:00: The supreme court's surveillance on Room 1010 ends.
• Rihan's Predator consumes Salé-salé Hui Guo Rou's Guardian Spirit Beast. Rihan trades guard shifts with Yushohi.
• At 20:00: An announcement communicates that the dangerous stowaway has been captured.

August 13^th, 2001 (Fri) (Day 6)

• Morning: Halkenburg forces his way into his father's room, and his Nen ability awakens.
• Halkenburg uses his Nen ability for the first time, using it on Shikaku. As a result, his guard Sumidori possesses Shikaku, and Sumidori's body enters a state of sleep. This is the second time a large amount of aura is sent throughout Tier 1.
• Night: Salé-salé is killed by Yushohi.

August 14^th, 2001 (Sat) (Day 7)

• At 22:30: Cha-R vice boss Tajao enters the Cha-R's hideout through the door Luini wanted access to, and the Spiders volunteer to kill Morena in exchange for his help in getting permission to search Tier 4 for Hisoka.
• Halkenburg hypothesizes several possibilities for the workings of his ability and begins to test them out.
• Tserriednich's guards clean up a mass of blood and guts in his room. He confirms with an unknown party over the phone that Morena is not in her VVIP room on Tier 1. He sends an order for his soldiers on the lower tiers to search Morena's hideout.
• Tserriednich unconsciously conjures a jester/scarecrow-like Nen beast.
• Theta begins training Tserriednich in Zetsu.

August 15^th, 2001 (Sun) (Day 8)

• At 19:35: Theta instructs Tserriednich to try and maintain his Zetsu for one hour through distractions.
• Tserriednich discovers his Nen ability.
• At 20:00: The banquet commences.
• At 20:59: Melody's performance is introduced, to be played over the speaker system throughout Tiers 1 and 2. Theta shoots Tserriednich in a parallel present. Melody gives the listeners of her performance a vision of a beautiful landscape. Theta and Tserriednich freeze, unsure of how to respond to the sudden vision.
• Within the next three minutes: Keeney guides Kacho and Fugetsu to the ship's lifeboats and, attempting to absolve them of responsibility if caught, shoots himself after seeing their lifeboat off.
• At 21:03:37: Melody's performance ends.
• Theta hears Tserriednich reappear behind her. Theta loses consciousness after being confronted by Tserriednich's Guardian Spirit Beast.
• Kacho is killed by the conditions of the Seed Urn ceremony.
• Kacho's Guardian Spirit Beast manifests as a copy of her. "Kacho" returns with Fugetsu to Room 1011.
• Before 21:18: Theta recovers consciousness. Theta discovers an "infection" has spread from the wound on her cheek to across the left half of her face.

August 16^th, 2001 (Mon) (Day 9)

• Kaiser holds Melody in custody under suspicion of involvement in Kacho and Fugetsu's escape attempt to protect Melody from the other Princes. He lets her know that both "Kacho" and Fugetsu are also at the Justice Bureau on Tier 2 to answer questions.
• Halkenburg's aura is perceived for the third time. Basho in Room 1007 identifies that it comes from Room 1009. Kurapika and Bill in Room 1014 can only narrow it down to Rooms 1005, 1007, or 1009. Sometime between Days 5 and 9, Rihan is assigned to guard Tubeppa.
• "Shikaku" commits suicide in front of Room 1007, and the rumbling stops. "Sumidori" awakens.
• At 10:00: Kanjidol returns to recount the events surrounding Shikaku's death to Benjamin and Balsamilco Might and identifies the rumbling aura with Halkenburg for them. Balsamilco sends him back with instructions to observe the actions of Room 1007's occupants closely, and Basho begins to observe Kanjidol.
• Kurapika initiates Ladiolus, Maor, Yuri, and Satobi with Nen.
• After Maor returns from Room 1014: Tubeppa passes a thumb drive to Heisen and instructs him to follow up on its contents.

August 17^th, 2001 (Tue) (Day 10)

• At 11:30: Halkenburg's aura can be felt for the fourth time from Rooms 1014 and Benjamin's residence in the VVIP area when he uses his ability on Vict.
  • At an unknown time after: Halkenburg's group test his ability, specifically what happens when the body of the possessor dies before the body of the possessed dies.
• Because of Balsamilco's report, Halkenburg is arrested by the Ministry of Justice under suspicion of premeditated murder of Benjamin's men.
• Sarahell decides to test the strength of Camilla's men's curses on Woble during Kurapika's second round of Nen lessons.
• At 11:45: Kurapika invites Longhi into Room 1014's master bedroom to have her Nen awakened.
  • Longhi uses her Moonlight Act to simultaneously prove that she is not the Silent Majority user and to establish the contract between Tubeppa and Woble.
  • Longhi reveals that Beyond is her biological father, and has fathered several children lurking among the personal guards who he turned into "curse sacrifices" of varying strengths. Longhi speculates that Beyond has done so because he has a child among the 14 Princes, and wishes to use the "strong curse sacrifices" on the other Princes.
  • Longhi explains the truce Tubeppa seeks with Woble, a peace treaty penalizing Woble's side with one week of forced Zetsu if they attacked Tubeppa's side, and rewarding them with a one-time use of Moonlight Act if fulfiled. The truce would be renewed in 1 week at 9 a.m. on Sunday (Day 15), and the contract expires if Tubeppa withdraws.
  • Longhi adds an extra stipulation to the contract for Kurapika to sign, that he would identify who Beyond's child among the 14 Princes is, before Tubeppa withdraws or before two princes remain. Longhi promises to give Kurapika this stipulation as a contract between him and her should he wish to continue, with the same rewards. If Beyond's Prince-child is identified, Longhi requests to be the one who kills Beyond's them.
  • Kurapika agrees to a peace treaty with Tubeppa and Longhi's additional terms.
• Longhi steps out of Room 1014's master bedroom and demonstrates a natural flow of Nen. Furykov, having expected her to be responsible for the deaths of Barrigen and Myuhan, is confused and wonders what happened, given the lack of indication of a battle, and Longhi looking like she was crying.
• Kurapika invites Tenftory into Room 1014's master bedroom to have his Nen awakened.
• By the end of Nen lessons: Kurapika awakens all of his students to Nen.
• At 13:30:Tenftory reports to Zhang Lei. Maor and Longhi report to Tubeppa.
  • In Room 1003:
    • Tenftory reports the status of the classes thus far and his Nen awakening to Zhang Lei, and lets him know that he can see his Nen beast. Zhang Lei rewards him with a coin.
    • Tenftory lets Zhang Lei know about Tubeppa and Woble's willingness to defer the throne to him if they are the final three Princes remaining, in exchange for Sakata and Hashito remaining with Woble indefinitely. Zhang Lei rewards him with a second coin, and tells him to keep it with him at all times.
    • Coventoba eavesdrops on their conversation. Shortly after, he notices the number on his coin has changed from a '1' to a '10'. He sees that Tenftory's coin has a '1' on it.
  • In Room 1005:
    • Maor and Longhi tell Tubeppa about Kurapika's acceptance of her truce on condition that Woble and Oito accompany him to Room 1005 whenever he comes over. Maor also tells Tubeppa that Zhang Lei's guards had demanded to be present as well for information sharing. Rihan eavesdrops while standing guard.
    • Tubeppa decides that Tserriednich does not care much about collaborating with her. She tells Maor and Longhi to have the attendants of the next class impress their closeness with Zhang Lei's team on Benjamin's men.
    • Tubeppa's Guardian Spirit Beast appears. Rihan notes this and guesses that her Guardian Spirit Beast has conditions to meet before appearing.
  • Somewhere unknown: Balsamilco tests a gas emission device hidden in his shoe and loads a pathogenic cartridge into it, preparing to eliminate Halkenburg during their trial.
• Zhang Lei concludes his beast will not help him win and meets with Onior to ask about Nen and Nasubi's succession war.
• Under Onior's orders, Hinrigh Biganduffno, Lynch Fullbokko, and Zakuro Custard begin searching Tier 3 for Morena and Hisoka. Onior allows the Spiders to search Tier 4 for Hisoka.
• Hinrigh fights and kills Padaille. Maizan appears to address the commotion and sells Hinrigh information on Morena's location.
• Lynch and Zakuro come across Bonolenov disguised as Hisoka and are knocked out by him.
  • Bonolenov impersonates Zakuro to speak with Lynch when she comes to. After he confirms that she knows that he is disguising himself as Hisoka, he kills her and hides her body, before disguising himself as her and telling Zakuro that "Hisoka" was going to the cinemas.
• Nobunaga kills Luini and gives his body to the Cha-R.
• Hinrigh gets "Hisoka"'s location from Zakuro and convinces Hisoka (Bonolenov in disguise) to move to Tier 1.
• Hinrigh finds Maizan waiting with Ken'i and the Cha-R. Maizan brings them all to Room 3101.
• Maizan steps into Room 3101 and disappears. Hinrigh and Ken'i decide to let the Phantom Troupe deal with the trap.
• Kaiser proposes a plan to kill the higher princes to "Kacho" and Melody.
• Worried about special martial law being declared, Kaiser gives Steiner a button to press in case Benjamin's men or the Royal Army come to the Justice Bureau.
• "Kacho" notices Fugetsu's mental state is deteriorating, and Kaiser arranges for Melody to check on her. Melody confirms she is in a state of near-Zetsu.
• Melody speaks with Zhang Lei and accepts his Guardian Spirit Beast's coin, incorrectly believing Zhang Lei himself made it. Melody speaks with Vantine and declines his invitation to Tserriednich's quarters.
• Before 14:00: Beyond asks his guard Tiger Zodiac Kanzai to arrange a meeting with an unspecified person for him.

August 18^th, 2001 (Wed) (Day 11)

• At 06:00: "Kacho" shows Melody a picture of a mark on Fugetsu's back. They guess that she has been drugged, making her believe she can use Magical Worm more than once a day. When they speak with Kaiser, they suggest that Luzurus or his Guardian Spirit Beast were behind this.
• "Kacho", Melody, and Kaiser make a plan for Fugetsu to enter the quarters of various Princes so she can connect to their rooms with her Magical Worm if needed, by having "Kacho" write a letter to be passed off as her final message to each Prince.
  • They decide to have the letters contain information that the Ministry of Justice had gathered on each Prince to further shake up the Princes.
• Between 06:00 and 08:50: Kaiser, several IPA members, and several soldiers escort Fugetsu around Tier 1 to deliver her letters to the remaining Princes. They deliver the letters to all Princes except Tserriednich (rejected), Halkenburg (ill), and Marayam (rejected). Kurapika receives a personal letter from Melody.
• At 06:45: Balsamilco makes his way to the Justice Department Prosecution and Courthouse Area Entrance.
  • Inside the building, he sees Vict. "Vict" engages and distracts Balsamilco to let Halkenburg successfully use his ability on Balsamilco from around a corner, powered by a group of civilian supporters. Halkenburg ends up being the one possessing Balsamilco's body.
    • Before the attack on Balsamilco: Halkenburg calls and speaks with Unma and lets her know of his plans. Unma tells Halkenburg, her son, how proud she is of him.
  • Approximately 07:50: Benjamin speaks with the Justice Bureau and learns that the trial has been postponed. He suspects that Balsamilco has been manipulated by Halkenburg's ability.
  • Balsamilco gets on the phone and informs Benjamin that despite how guilty he looks, he would meet Halkenburg and his supporters, and promises not to return until he can prove that his mission has been completed. Balsamilco promises to get results within the day.
  • Benjamin informs Butch that the rumbling was an attack on Balsamilco, and has him notify Tiers 2 and 3 that he may declare martial law. He is notified by another guard that Kaiser and Fugetsu have something to pass him, and lets them in to try and foster a good relationship with the Justice Bureau.
  • The letter from Kacho to Benjamin says that Unma is Halkenburg's mother. Kacho also requests for Benjamin's help in protecting Fugetsu. When Benjamin reads the letter, he pretends that it contains nothing important, but hints that he hopes to enact martial law on the ship. He notes the low-level spirits surrounding Fugetsu and guesses she will not last a week.
  • Benjamin gets a call from Balsamilco (who, unbeknownst to him, is possessed by Halkenburg himself) reporting mission (Halkenburg's elimination) completion and that results would be delivered by that night.
• After Zhang Lei receives and reads the letter Kacho wrote for him from Fugetsu, he tries to figure out how his coins functions. He does not make progress with his men and asks them to call Room 1014 instead.
• Luzurus hands his letter back to Kaiser after reading it and pretends to not be interested in its contents. He considers that Kacho might have wanted to pit him against Tserriednich while getting Benjamin to protect Fugetsu and decides not to act hastily.
  • As Fugetsu leaves Room 1007, Basho passes her a good luck charm that wards off the low-level spirits clinging to her.
  • Kurapika notifies Oito that he would begin the second round of Nen lessons the next day, and asks her permission to make the letter she received (not his letter) public.
• Steiner meets with Kaiser and reports that in addition to the people Halkenburg had warned would faint, Justice Bureau staff member Worio Bay had passed out in a similar manner, albeit at a different time and place.
  • Kaiser meets Worio in order to learn about Halkenburg's ability before he risks meeting Halkenburg in person. Kaiser learns that Halkenburg had expected him to be suspicious of him, and that Halkenburg had predicted his own death soon. Kaiser then visits Halkenburg, who is unconscious in bed.
• At 08:50: After Fugetsu finishes her rounds and returns, she sleeps. "Kacho", Melody, and Kaiser make plans to carry out Luzurus' elimination using Fugetsu getting treated in the infirmary as an alibi while they use their abilities to knock Luzurus out and force him to ride a lifeboat out of the ship. They plan to execute this the night of the next day.
  • Melody talks about the rumbling on Tier 2 and guesses that it was either Halkenburg's ability or his Guardian Spirit Beast's ability. She asks Kaiser for information, finding it important to know whether him collapsing was intended or unintentional.
  • Melody hopes to pass Halkenburg his letter soon, containing information on Benjamin's secret, Tserriednich's depravity, and Halkenburg's own birth.
• Kurapika goes to Room 1003 at Zhang Lei's request to assist him with understanding the coins produced by his Guardian Spirit Beast. He is accompanied by Oito and Woble.
  • From the information shared, Kurapika theorizes that Zhang Lei's Guardian Spirit Beast allows those gifted coins to accumulate Nen, increasing in value by a factor of ten, every ten days. He keeps his theory that Coventoba had kept one coin a secret from those in the room. He also keeps his hypothesis that Zhang Lei's Guardian Spirit Beast would be able to pseudo-coercively manipulate those who are gifted coins a secret.
• Tserriednich manages to reduce the time he takes to activate Zetsu down to 3.496 seconds, but is frustrated and determines to keep going until he gets it below 1 second.
• Sometime in the afternoon: Balsamilco (possessed by Halkenburg) administers TSK-17 to Halkenburg's physical body.
  • "Halkenburg" is rushed to the hospital on Tier 3 and is seen to by a team of doctors, including Cheadle and Leorio.
  • "Balsamilco" accompanies "Halkenburg". He calls Benjamin afterward to report, and reaffirms that results will be delivered later that night.
  • Benjamin sends the royal and military medical teams to Halkenburg's sick body to take over responsibility for watching over "Halkenburg" from Cheadle and Leorio's team.
• Kurapika makes plans to keep Woble safe after he learns that Camilla has decided to send a single guard to attend the second round of Nen lessons.

August 19^th, 2001 (Thurs) (Day 12)

• In the early hours (roughly 12 hours after TSK-17 was administered to Halkenburg): Balsamilco (possessed by Halkenburg) takes a sedative with an effect for 10 hours. Not long afterward, Halkenburg's physical body dies.
• 09:00: Kurapika's second round of Nen lessons begins.
• Bonolenov comes across Hisoka at the Casino. He discards his Hisoka disguise and disguises himself as the Shadow Beast, Owl.
• Hinrigh confirms that the Heil-Ly are warping around and updates Ken'i and Borksen's companions.
• While inspecting the trap in Room 3101, Nobunaga has a flashback to the origins of the Phantom Troupe.
• Nobunaga and Hinrigh step into the trap in Room 3101 to see where it takes them.
  • Ken'i introduces Hinrigh to the Spiders outside Room 3101, who proposes a plan to find the Heil-Ly base. He swallows a transmitter, passes the receiver to Phinks, and lets himself be teleported by the trap. Nobunaga joins him.
  • Nobunaga follows Hinrigh into the trap and the two find Heil-Ly members where they are teleported. They engage the Heil-Ly and are forced out by Yokotani. Hinrigh successfully hides the transmitter in the Heil-Ly base before he is forced out.
• (Ten minutes after being forcibly teleported back): Nobunaga regroups with Phinks and Feitan. They confirm the Heil-Ly base is on Tier 2.
• An announcement is made on Tier 3 announcing the death of Halkenburg in the early hours of Day 12. The announcement informs listeners that Halkenburg's body would be transferred from Tier 3 to Tier 1 at noon, and tells those who wish to pay their respects to gather at the Central Staircase Square.
• Tajao officially asks Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan to crush the Heil-Ly. He tells the spiders that the Cha-R and Xi-Yu would fully support them.
  • Before they begin to crush the Heil-Ly, Phinks and Feitan follow Nobunaga to the Cha-R family hideout on Tier 5 for him to confirm something with Tajao and Ken'i.
  • Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan learn of Morena and convince Tajao that the current Heil-Ly on board are not acting as the Kakin mafia.
  • Tajao asks the spiders to crush the Heil-Ly, and Ken'i worries about the spiders finding Morena sooner than expected and guesses that she might have to use the "joker" soon.
  • Tajao brings Phinks, Feitan, and Nobunaga to a space between the main Tiers of the Black Whale and its hull. Nobunaga turns around after Tajao confirms his suspicions that the Heil-Ly might be posing as sewage processing subcontractors and luring people to the waste processing area between Tiers 4 and 5 to find their prey, and also to not have to surrender his newly-made katana.
• Morena lets her underlings know about the funeral procession for Halkenburg. Dogman and Sodom head out to find the person that Morena seeks.
• Shortly before the funeral procession: Lynch's body is found by soldiers during a final sweep before the procession.
  • Hinrigh reunites with Zakuro, and a Xi-Yu Family underling lets them know that Lynch has been killed and her body has been found
  • Hinrigh and Zakuro arrive at the possibility that someone is pretending to be Hisoka in order to trick the Xi-Yu into thinking that Hisoka has been found and let their people freely search for Hisoka in vain
• Roughly two hours after Hinrigh and Nobunaga find the Heil-Ly secret hideout: The transmitter that Hinrigh transforms into an oyster and hides loses its aura and reverts back to a transmitter
• 12:00: The funeral procession for "Halkenburg" to the morgue on Tier 1 begins at Tier 3, and heads to Tier 2 via the Central Stairwell.
  • Chrollo wanders through the crowd while he uses his Love Dial 6700 to try and locate his "ideal partner". He gets incensed with thoughts of revenge against Hisoka and turns his thoughts to his original plan for the Black Whale, to steal Kakin's three imperial treasures so that he can upgrade Skill Hunter and obtain an ability to kill Hisoka.
  • Before 13:00: Halkenburg's coffin is carried from Tier 3 to Tier 2
• Around 13:00: Borksen's companions note that she has gone missing and her last contact with them was roughly 30 minutes earlier.
  • Borksen regains consciousness in the Heil-Ly Family secret hideout and finds herself facing Morena and surrounded by five of Morena's underlings. Morena does not force her to join the Heil-Ly, but rather, strongarms Borksen into agreeing to play a negotiation game. Borksen ends the game having fulfilled two of the three criteria to be a Heil-Ly member., with the second criteria being fulfilled because Borksen chose to cheat during the game.
• Shortly before special martial law is declared: Perhaps coincidentally, Zhang Lei heads to Tier 2 through Onior's residence, and is speculated to be hiding in the Justice Bureau.
• Mid-negotiation game: An announcement is played throughout the Black Whale, announcing that Special Martial Law has been declared. Tiers 4 and 5 are notified that their lives are generally unaffected. Tiers 3, 2, and 1 are given instructions to comply with the military, with varying strictness based off the importance of the residents of the tier. The bulkhead between Tiers 2 and 3 is shut.
• 40 minutes after special martial law is declared: Benjamin meets with Mizaistom, Botobai, and Kaiser, and instruct them to be his witnesses to the legitimacy of his special martial law declaration. He believes himself to have a 9h30min time window to act and declare his illegitimate child the official successor to the throne.
