Chap 363 - Tserriednich Nen

Vantine informs Tserridnich about the private soldier sent to his quarters

After Kurapika's emergency announcement on the first day of the voyage, 1st Prince Benjamin sends his private soldiers to join the guard of each Prince in order to spy on them. Vantine asks Tserriednich what he would like them to do about the soldier his brother Benjamin had sent him, reminding him that since he is the other son of 1st Queen Unma, he is not obligated to comply. Tserriednich tells Vantine to tell Benjamin, "You idiot," adding that he is focusing on his Nen.[1]

During Tserriednich's Nen training with Theta on the eighth day, Vantine is seen with at least three other bodyguards outside the room. After the gunshot and Theta faints, Vantine tells Tserriednich about missing time and that after they rushed in once they heard the sound, they saw a beautiful landscape in front of them. He adds that they were unable to move and guesses that it was due to the music broadcast. Tserriednich asks if it was supposed to be Salé-salé's rap, and Vantine confirms it, telling him that the performance was by a Hunter named Melody. Tserriednich tells him to call her over and make it sound like an invitation. Vantine worries that they might refuse if it's not a summons, but Tserriednich stresses that it's a feeler, explaining that they can make inferences based on their response.[3][4]

At the Justice Bureau on Tier 2, Vantine introduces himself to Melody as the private military commander for Tserriednich during his meeting with her on the tenth day of the voyage. Unbeknownst to him, Melody had recently begin to consider the possibility that one of the people she meets had taken 11th Prince Fugetsu as hostage. Vantine uses the word "negotiations", which unintentionally puts Melody on her guard. On behalf of Tserriednich, Vantine invites Melody to Room 1004, and asks her if she would accept. Melody politely declines and says that she cannot make a decision on her own, prompting Vantine to ask if the reason is because she was hired to guard 10th Prince Kacho. Melody quickly says that she cannot comment on her contract, and Vantine rephrases his question, asking if she is unwilling to perform again. Melody replies that she would be happy to play anywhere given the right circumstances, and Vantine tells her that the Prince will be pleased. Melody then tries to put emphasis on "negotiations", but Vantine is left confused, saying that they can work out the details after she is released. Melody senses confusion and doubt in his heartbeat, deciding that Tserriednich is not responsible for Fugetsu's situation.[2]

At 8:00 a.m. on the eleventh day of the voyage, Vantine knocks and politely interrupts Tserriednich's Zetsu practice to update him about their progress with Melody, telling Tserriednich that the Ministry of Justice had suspected her involvement and continued to detain her, a suspicion echoed by Benjamin who had kept his soldiers there. Tserriednich tells him just not to let Benjamin get to her first, to continue trying to see her, find out what she is thinking, and win her over. Tserriednich and Vantine exchange a few more unintelligible words.[5]
