Summary[]

Gon, Killua, and Biscuit, in their quest to collect all 99 specified slot cards to clear Greed Island, begin contacting other players in order to trade information regarding the remaining cards. However, the Bombers are nearing completion of the game after a successful encounter against Tsezguerra's team. Several teams combine strength into a single alliance to stop them, with Gon's team being invited as well. During their meeting, they reach the conclusion that they need to obtain a monopoly on the only card in the game that no one has yet acquired—"Plot of Beach". The players then travel to Soufrabi where they learn that the town has been taken over by fifteen pirates, among whom is their leader named Razor—an ex-convict and acquaintance of Ging.

The alliance has to defeat the pirates in competitive sports and win eight games to force them out of Soufrabi, but the majority of the players are useless. While the rest of the alliance gives up on acquiring the card after discovering that the Bombers will be unable to obtain it, Gon's team continues to try and comes back with a group of stronger competitors to complete Razor's challenge. During the search for companions, Gon's team encounter Hisoka and convince him to help them. Killua comes to realize that his true motive for being in Greed Island is to find an exorcist who can remove Kurapika's chain from Chrollo, and the group also learns that Greed Island is taking place within the real world. In addition to Hisoka, the group enlists Tsezguerra's team and a Hunter named Goreinu so that they can defeat Razor in a deadly game of dodgeball and acquire the rare card.
