Summary

Gon and Killua meet Palm, one of Knov's students, who tells the boys that they have one month to defeat Morel's two students (Knuckle and Shoot) if they want to join the Extermination Team and return to NGL. Back in the Chimera Ant nest, Neferpitou watches over Kite frozen in a block of ice. The Royal Guard wishes that they could fight him again, suddenly deciding to create an ability with which to fix him.

Knuckle tries to lure out Gon and Killua, loudly challenging the two to a duel, but the boys head back to their hotel and find Biscuit waiting for them. She works on their Ren training so the two will be prepared to face Knuckle. Netero, Morel, and Knov monitor the nest at a distance, and Morel uses his pipe to create smoke rabbits in order to get a count of the enemy's forces. Another Royal Guard, Shaiapouf, awakens and discusses the situation with Pitou, telling them that they will simply destroy the targets if they get close to the nest.

After underestimating Gon's strength, Knuckle agrees to fight the two boys as many times as they want, but tells them that they won't be able to beat him in the remaining time. In the same city, the former kingpin of NGL named Gyro walks the streets, reborn as an Ant but rejecting the Queen's commands and retaining all his human memories. His backstory is given in detail, and it's explained that he plans to spread evil throughout the world.

Making use of Morel's smoke and Knov's portals, Netero is able to eliminate dozens of soldier Ants. As the last Royal Guard (Menthuthuyoupi) awakens, Gon confronts Knuckle and improves during the course of the fight, but eventually falls unconscious when he runs out of aura.

As Killua spars with Biscuit back at the hotel, she lectures him about giving up and running away, stressing the danger it could cause Gon if Killua eventually leaves him to die during a fight. She then gives him an ultimatum: if he can't defeat Shoot, he has to stay out of Gon's life. Gon and Knuckle begin their rematch, and the latter explains his A.P.R. ability in detail, confident that he can make Gon go bankrupt. Nearby, Killua and Shoot are prepared to begin their fight, with the latter also revealing his ability.
