Summary[]
After Fugetsu refuses to talk with Mizaistom in the central police station on Tier 3, he escorts her back to Tier 1 where Melody hopes that there will be no more incidents before the Sunday banquet. In Salé-salé's quarters, Rihan finalizes his analysis of the Prince's Guardian Spirit Beast and unleashes his Predator, which leaps toward the Prince and devours his Nen beast. The next morning, Halkenburg forcefully makes his way into King Nasubi's chambers. After he fails to kill his father and then himself in an attempt to end the succession contest, he returns to his quarters resolved and awakened, using his ability on Shikaku. Having switched places with Rihan, Yushohi uses his ability to kill the defenseless Salé-salé.
At the Sunday banquet, Melody uses her flute solo to entrance everyone present as Keeney leads Kacho and Fugetsu to the lifeboats and then kills himself so that the escape has no accomplices. As the twins near the end of the escape hatch, dozens of hands suddenly appear and force them to return to the Black Whale. After the two reunite and make their way back to Tier 1, it's revealed that Kacho was killed on the lifeboat, and her Nen beast has taken Kacho's form to protect Fugetsu until death. The night before the banquet, Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan continue to work with the Cha-R Family and agree to hunt down Luini while Morena's location is confirmed. In Room 1004, Tserriednich continues his Nen training and suddenly creates a Specialist Nen beast, leaving Theta terrified as she begins to teach him Zetsu. On the night of the banquet, Theta fails to assassinate Tserriednich during his Zetsu training and receives a warning from his Guardian Spirit Beast.
At the Justice Bureau on Tier 2, Melody is questioned by the investigator and learns that she is being detained to protect herself from the dangerous Princes who want to meet her after her performance. Halkenburg analyzes his ability with his guards and eventually sends Sumidori (inhabiting Shikaku's body) in front of Luzurus' quarters, where the guard shoots himself in the head. Kurapika introduces the Nen class to Water Divination and convinces them to take it one at a time behind closed doors. With Theta left questioning what happened, Tserriednich continues his Nen training with Salkov. In a flashback, Tserriednich's newfound ability is revealed in detail, and he resolves to dominate the succession contest and the world.
In Woble's quarters, Kurapika uses his Stealth Dolphin to transfer Bill's Erigeron ability to each of the students, semicoercively awakening their Nen as they perform the Water Divination test. As Bill worries about Kurapika's strategy, Rihan analyzes the situation in detail and considers going after Halkenburg next. With Tubeppa fearing assassination and eager to team up with him, Kurapika feels a fourth rumbling of aura. After telling Kanjidol to monitor the situation in Luzurus' quarters, Benjamin and Balsamilco have Halkenburg arrested and plan to make their move at his trial. Camilla's Have-Nots are introduced and explained to be curse assassins assigned to kill the remaining Princes, with Sarahell preparing to attend Kurapika's Nen classes to curse Woble.
After Zhang Lei analyzes his coin ability and meets with Onior to learn what happened during Nasubi's succession contest, Onior tells Hinrigh to search for Hisoka on Tier 3 and to kill Morena. Hinrigh teams up with Zakuro and Lynch, and once the three Xi-Yu members reach Tier 3, they are attacked by several members of the Heil-Ly Family. Although two soldiers order him to leave the tier, Hinrigh uses his Biohazard ability to kill them before the three continue their search for Hisoka and Morena.
