Woble Hui Guo Rou (ワブル=ホイコーロ, Waburu Hoikōro) is the Fourteenth Prince of the Kakin Empire's fourteen Princes, only daughter of Kakin's King Nasubi Hui Guo Rou and his eighth wife, Eighth Queen Oito.[1]
Appearance[]
Woble is an infant with short, dark hair and round dark eyes. In later chapters, her hair has become of a lighter color.
Personality[]
Woble grasps Kurapika's hand
As an infant, Woble does not yet possess a defined character. She is almost always seen sleeping. In some instances, she has shown to have grown fond and trustful of Kurapika, often reaching out for him and holding his hand.[2][3]
Plot[]
Succession Contest arc[]
Kurapika holds Woble
Woble is first introduced along with the rest of Kakin's 14 Princes. She is seen sleeping as she is carried by her mother, 8th Queen Oito, in front of a picture of Nasubi. Oito would be one of behind one of six anonymous listings hiring bodyguards to protect Woble for the Black Whale 1's journey to the Dark Continent later,[1] which Kurapika would apply to with the mistaken assumption that 9th Prince Halkenburg had posted it. Woble sleeps as Oito carries her during her meeting with Kurapika. After some negotiation, Kurapika agrees to become Woble's guard for the duration of the voyage, and Oito places Woble into Kurapika's arms to carry and look at. Kurapika's eyes soften as he looks at Woble.[4]
During the eve (of departure) festival, Woble is seen[note 1] carried by Oito who stands with the rest of Woble's half-siblings and Beyond Netero on a stage. Woble and Oito look at the crowd together. Kakin's Royal Family is flown into the Black Whale 1 shortly after. Woble is next seen attending a ceremony taking place in the Black Whale 1, sleeping near Oito as various guests look at her.[5]
Later that day, after Woble and Oito return to their quarters, a dark aura is briefly released from inside Woble's cradle, startling Kurapika.[5]
The Black Whale 1 departs the next day, indicating the first day of the voyage. Woble attends the departure event in Tier 1's ceremonial hall with her mother, and they are noticed by 1st Prince Benjamin as they leave. Woble is sleeping when her entourage reaches Room 1014, and does not wake up when the adults around her are startled to see the bodies of four bodyguards in Room 1014 upon their return. Upon seeing this, Kurapika tells Oito, who is holding Woble, to stand behind him as he interrogates his colleagues.[6] After learning of the Seed Urn Ceremony, he hypothesizes that Woble attacked and killed Woody upon sensing his hostility.[7] Woble remains inactive through most of the following events but cries right as Vincent arrives[8] and, shortly afterwards, leans towards Kurapika, causing her mother to give her complete trust to the bodyguard.[2]
Woble reaches out to Kurapika
Woble is brought along when her mother and Kurapika meet with 3rd Prince Zhang Lei to share information about Nen with him.[9] When Zhang Lei ends the meeting, he orders bodyguards Sakata and Hashito to return with Woble and guard her until the next dinner banquet, having been informed by his team that Woble's team was attacked and lacks manpower. Slakka, guard of 2nd Queen Duazul, is ordered by the queen to follow them as well. When Woble returns to her quarters, she is put back in her cradle by her mother.[10]
Woble is carried by Oito as she helps look for a cockroach to use Sayird's Little Eye on. Woble is also carried by Oito as she sleeps while Kurapika explains Guardian Spirit Beasts to Maor and the other present bodyguards. When Oito uses Little Eye, she feigns weakness to not draw the suspicion of other guards to her and has Shimano place Woble in her cradle.[11][12] Woble remained in her crib overnight while her mother blacked out from Kurapika's overuse of his Emperor Time. When Oito wakes up the early in the morning of the second day, she is distrustful of Kurapika because his directions conveniently helped his goals. In the middle of the conversation, Woble wakes up and reaches out for Kurapika, making her mother to trust him.[3]
She sleeps on Oito's bed next to her mother and Bill while the latter teaches the queen Nen.[13] Woble sleeps in Oito's arms as Oito brings her along when she goes with Kurapika to verify that Shimano was innocent of the murders in Room 1014. When back in the master bedroom, Woble awakens and begins to play with a toy.[14] Later that day, she sleeps again as Oito continues practicing Nen with Bill, as Shimano sets dinner. [15]
On the ninth day, Woble is seen again asleep in Oito's arms as Oito listens to Kurapika and Bill discuss the massive surge of rumbling aura from one of the odd-numbered rooms.[16] Oito then takes Woble with her to the master bedroom, where Kurapika opens the Aura Nodes of some of his students, which Woble sleeps through.[17]
At 11:45 a.m. on the 10th day of the voyage, Kurapika and Bill invite Longhi into Room 1014's master bedroom in order to privately initiate her with Nen.[18] Furykov watches her enter, and in his belief of her to be an assassin, loosely hopes she would take Woble out in a kamikaze attack. Woble sleeps on the bed next to Oito as Longhi enters. Longhi declines their divination as she reveals that she can use Nen and asks Kurapika for his help. When Longhi states her belief that the "curse sacrifices" Beyond prepared targeted the Princes, Oito begins to perspire, and puts her hand protectively in front of Woble as she continues watching their discussion. Longhi requests Kurapika's help in investigating her theory that Beyond is the father of one of the 14 Princes. Kurapika agrees, and Longhi contracts the terms of Kurapika's assignment and agreement on top of his truce with 5th Prince Tubeppa using her Moonlight Act.[19]
In Room 1003, at 13:30 on the tenth day of the voyage, Tenftory tells Zhang Lei that if he, Woble, and Tubeppa were the final three Princes remaining, Woble and Tubeppa would defer the throne to him. Zhang Lei is particularly surprised by the idea that Tubeppa would agree to such a proposal. Tenftory adds that (through Kurapika) Woble had requested that Sakata and Hashito extend their support for her indefinitely.[20]
In Room 1005, at roughly the same time, Maor mentions to Tubeppa that as a condition for Kurapika entering a truce with her and agreeing to an alliance with her, he requested that Oito and Woble accompany him when he comes to her residence, Room 1005. Tubeppa welcomes the idea, saying that she would not even mind if Woble had come to live with her.[20]
On the eleventh day of the voyage, Kurapika explains to Oito that the letter they had received from Fugetsu explained that death is the punishment awaiting anyone trying to leave the ship during the succession; the ship itself had become the urn for the Kakin worm toxin. While carrying Woble, Oito dejectedly reasons that the Princes must continue until only one is left alive. Contrary to Oito's mood, Kurapika says sees hope and asks Oito for permission to do something to protect Woble and the other young Princes, to make the letter public. He tells her that the second round of Nen lessons will begin the next day. Like last time, attendance will be up to the Princes, this time with the knowledge that the letter Oito received will be made public during classes.[21]
Later that day, Oito carries Woble and follows Kurapika to Room 1003, where he assists Zhang Lei in identifying the function of the coins produced by his Guardian Spirit Beast. For the duration of their visit, Woble is carried by Oito in a sling for the rest of their visit.[22]
Later, Kurapika prepares for the next round of Nen lessons. After the conversation with Sakata and Hashito, Kurapika decides that 2nd Prince Camilla intending to send only one guard likely means that she has intentions to do things other than learn Nen, and makes plans with Bill and Shimano to keep her guards away from Woble as much as possible.[22]

This particular issue arose when their mother Queen Sevanti sent all of Momoze's Hunters and servants to Marayam. Since we only got to see 4/5 of Momoze's Hunters and 2/3 of her servants by that time, we can't say for certain which prince the marked characters initially belonged to. | |
Abilities & Powers[]
As an infant, Woble is completely dependent on adults, and her authority is purely nominal. However, possibly as a result of the Seed Urn Ceremony, Woble appears to be endowed with a paranormal awareness: not only was she supposedly able to sense malicious intents aimed at her,[7] her actions right after Kurapika's request for trust made the plan to subdue Vincent viably.[2] Even more remarkably, she started crying when Vincent approached her quarters, whereas not even Bill and Kurapika sensed any sort of threat until the man killed Sandra.[8]
Guardian Spirit Beast[]
Like her siblings, Woble is a recipient of parasitic type Nen. In the Seed Urn Ceremony, she received an egg from which a Guardian Spirit Beast has hatched to protect her.[5] The Guardian Spirit Beast is subject to two rule-like instincts: it is unable to fight other Guardian Spirit Beasts as well as to directly attack the host of one.[23] Its abilities and appearance are currently unknown. According to Babimyna, the fact that it has not shown itself once could be due, among other factors, to Woble being too young or to the Guardian Spirit Beast possessing a counteractive ability.[16]
