Wong Li (ウォン゠リー, Won Rī) was a Greed Island player, a member of Team Hanse with Zeho, and a member of Kazsule's Alliance.[1]
Appearance[]
Wong Li had narrow eyes, thin eyebrows and nose, messy hair, and protruding ears. He wore a tank top, plain pants, and shoes.[1]
Personality[]
Not much is known about Wong Li's personality, but he becomes anxious when he realizes that his leader Hanse has a bomb attached to him[1] and becomes upset when weapons are allowed in the boxing match.[2]
Plot[]
Greed Island arc[]
After receiving an invitation from Kazsule, Wong Li and his fellow teammate Zeho and leader Hanse attend a meeting with five other teams. Kazsule, who leads the meeting, proposes to the attendees an alliance between them all in order to figure out a way to stop the Bombers from completing the game. The alliance is agreed upon and, to prove their worth to the alliance, Gon's team divulges Genthru's abilities. Hearing the explanation of how Genthru's abilities work, Wong Li and Hanse are perturbed since both were touched by him. With this all settled, it's decided that the alliance will procure a card the Bombers have yet to acquire in order to hold a monopoly on it. The player Montreux uses a "List" card and finds out that the Bombers have yet to acquire the "Plot of Beach" card. Another player, Amana, uses a "Guidepost" card to reveal the card's location, discovering that it is in Soufrabi. Wong Li then claims that his team has been there before, so he uses an "Accompany" card to transport all of the alliance members.[1]
Arriving at the destination, Kazsule explains how to obtain an SS-rank card, and the alliance members split up into groups to find information on the "Plot of Beach" card. Kazsule manages to find a female NPC who has information on the card and tells them that it's in the hands of Razor and his pirates. The alliance then heads to the pirates' base in town and confront a few of them, with Bopobo challenging the group to a sumo match and promising to take them to Razor if they can beat him.[3] After Zeho steps up to the challenge and is easily beaten, Killua manages to defeat Bopobo and the group is then led to the pirates' lighthouse base. When the alliance members arrive, Razor challenges the group to a series of sports trials. The first is boxing, and Montreux steps up to the challenge,[4] but loses. The alliance team then loses the remaining matches. Realizing that there's no way for the Bombers to acquire the "Plot of Beach" card, the alliance is disbanded and the teams all leave the lighthouse (with the exception of Gon, Killua, Biscuit, and Goreinu).[2]
Later, Wong Li's name is mentioned in Gon's binder.[5] Not long after leaving the lighthouse, Wong Li and his teammates are killed by the Bombers.[6]
Abilities & Powers[]
Gon's team estimated him to be too weak to defeat Razor's convicts, as turned out to be the case. Wong Li was also unable to see the pirate boxer's teleporting uppercut.[2]
Nen[]
Due to being able to access Greed Island, Wong Li was capable of utilizing Nen.[7]
